Pretty Wedding Cakes & Trends for 2013
So 2012 wedding cakes were ah-may-zing! In particular, I loved the rustic ‘naked’ wedding cake often decorated with only fruits or flowers.

The ombré wedding cake was also big big news in 2012, and in 2013 pretty delicate ruffles will be a prominent trend. I love this pretty ruffle and ombré wedding cake with edible flowers.

2013 wedding cakes are also set to be bolder. I think these artistic ‘hand-painted’ wedding cakes are stunning! True works of art!

Bird themed wedding cakes will be big too. From bird nests to bird cages. Traditional, hand painted or rustic. Don’t cha think these vintage bird toppers are waaaay cute!?

2013 wedding cakes are also going to explode in a riot of colour… Multicolour prettiness and graduated hues. I also have it on v. good authority that mint will be massive..

So what do you think’s gonna be big wedding cake wise in 2013? I think we’ll continue to see dessert and sweet buffets and an increase in the number of cakes at weddings… collections of miniature sized cakes all displayed beautifully ~instead of one big cake.
Are the ruffled cakes made by Maggie Austin? They are so pretty. I also love the pastel painted cakes….so artistic!
Yes they are Margaret :) XxX Glad you love and thanks for all your comments!
I love this post! Personally, not a fan of the naked cake, but loving the birds, hand-painted, and ombre ruffles. Going to go scavenge for cake right now x
Haha glad I made you hungry. I love your macaron hearts ;) XxX
