Gooood morning lovely ladies! It’s been a little while hasn’t it ;) ahhh you’ll have to forgive me… As you’ve probably noticed, I’ve been having some serious technical issues with my blog and it’s taken a while to sort out. So big, big deep breaths and fingers and toes crossed. That’s all behind me now and I’m baaa-ack! YAY!!
Today’s de-lightful post is focusing on my favourite designer collection from last months bridal market. And if you haven’t heard of bridal market, it’s basically a series of fashion shows where the industry’s top bridal designers descended on New York to showcase their Spring/Summer or Autumn/Winter collections.
So without further ado, my favourite designer and collection from the Spring/Summer 2014 Bridal Market? The absolutely magnificent ‘muse’ collection by Australian couture designer, Johanna Johnson.
‘I am overwhelmed by the response to my new collection – a homage to the muse’s in my life – and so grateful to be able to debut this collection in new York City.’ Johanna Johnson
Inspired by the silver screen age of New York City as well as the art-deco architecture, Johnson’s ‘muse’ collection is built on the construction of embellished beaded designs, panelled silk gowns, detailed French laces, and reflective, metallic silhouettes.
Each look is treated as its own homage to old world Hollywood Art Deco, the structure of the era, and the tradition of dressing on ceremony.
‘I wanted to create beautiful gowns that I myself would wear. each gown is from a unique styling perspective, and everything is considered from fit, to quality, to comfort, and with a rich range of styling options’. Johanna Johnson
‘A wedding gown is an heirloom piece that tells a story. A love story’. Johanna Johnson
This beautiful bridal collection has it all doesn’t it? Acres of gorgeous panelled silks and the glitz and glam of those divine embellishments. Pure Old Hollywood!
Obviously being a bit of a magpie myself, I love the vintage inspired sparkle on these dresses, but what I really, really love is the two-tone silk bridal dresses. So deliciously chic. This new collection is available from all Johanna Johnson stockists from 1st December 2013.
Keep an eye out for my post next week on the top wedding dress trends of 2014. It’s not to be missed.
