Good evening loverlies! I have another fantastic wedding trends post to share with you this eve!
Do you want to know 4 AMAZING wedding prop trends for 2014? Sure you do. I’m gonna pass you over to a woman totally in the know. Melissa from The Sweet Hostess.
Hello and welcome to my thoughts on the big props and accessories trends for 2014.
Sequin Linen Table Cloths
This year everything is big, bold and sparkly. We are seeing lots of statement glamour props in the way of super size letters and giant balloons with sparkly tassels. Another way to add a touch of glamour to your wedding is sequin linen – genius!
This trend has been huge over in the US for some time now and last year slowly made its way to the UK. You are going to see lots of sparkly linen in 2014 and it will make an appearance on dessert tables, cake tables and head tables.
If you can’t convince your husband/wife to be to go for the full on sparkly bling then sequin table runners are also available and just add a subtle touch of glamour. This is definitely the way to add the sparkle factor to your special day.

Wedding DIY Backdrops
DIY backdrops are going to be HUGE in 2014. Couples are not settling for bland wedding venue walls as backdrops, instead they are opting to make and create their own. With the help of Pinterest this is becoming increasingly possible.
Think materials such as tassel garlands, sequin material, paper garlands, glitter curtains, balloons and luxury tissue paper. Creating backdrops may not be as hard as you think, but they do take time.
There are so many creative suppliers who can create one for you, or if you have time, or maybe you can rope in family and friends to help!
Why not try making your very own wedding backdrop? This pretty Pretty Scalloped Paper DIY Backdrop is amazing!

Natural and Recycled Wedding Props
I am predicting this to be really popular this year. Bright colours will be pared down for soft and calming shades. Natural props suit summer and outdoor weddings, perhaps with a more relaxed vibe. In 2013 we saw a hint of this coming through with naked cakes. Wow – how popular were they?!
One of my favourite natural props are tree stump cake stands! Yes, they may not have the most glamorous name, but this is natural at its very best. They look wonderful on a dessert table or taking center stage with your wedding cake. If I can’t convince you go and take a look at Pinterest for some inspiration – they really do look amazing.
Hessian linen was popular some time ago, but we are seeing a new spin on them. Lace and Hessian look so elegant together and can go really well with a natural or vintage themed wedding.

Nautical Wedding Props
Last year it was predicted that nautical would be super duper popular in 2014. Think navy table linen, sea inspired props and knotted ropes. With any theme sometimes less is more, just adding subtle touches or accessories can make a huge impact.
We are not suggesting a big old anchor take centre stage at your wedding (or that might look rather cool?) but subtle decorations such as using a deep sea blue or navy and blending those colours with bold patterns such as stripes and chevrons. Take that through to your table linen, stationery and decorations.

Hey Sonia, oh how I always love your Trend posts. My favourite trend: definitely the statement linens – I never gave any thought to mine, just the bog standard stiff as board white sheeting we had – what a missed opportunity! I love lace table cloths too! x
