I love Glasgow – it’s a great city with its own unique energy and bursting to the brim with creative, talented folks who LOVE helping couples create a wedding day truly unique to them. That was a big part of Cat D’s inspiration for pulling together the team for this cool wedding shoot.
She wanted to inspire couples to do things a little bit differently and consider a non-traditional wedding venue, such as a brewery for their big day and have fun with it!

WEST on the Green sits within the iconic Templeton Building right on Glasgow Green (clues in the name right!) and it’s a fully working brewery, bar and restaurant.
With so many unique spaces to photograph, couples looking for an urban setting for their wedding are spoilt for choice – as was the amazing Fiona Higgins Photography throughout the shoot.
The large copper kettles in the brewery played a key role in the colouring throughout the shoot; from the jewellery to the detail on the cake, from the copper and concrete candle holders to the stationery and even the glasses.
Details such as the bespoke signage, including the lettering design on the leather jacket from Daisy Bisley added to the urban look and feel.
The beautiful moody flowers were created by A Curious Arrangement and THAT bouquet – well, go large or go home was the goal. I think they hit the mark.
The flowers contrasted well against every space and this was no more so evident than with the unique offerings of Frill Factory. With their unusual frilly backdrops and wicker furniture lounge sets (plus pink pineapples on a stick) – what’s not to love??
Styling for the outfits was really important so my first port of call was the amazingly talented bridal couture designer Flossy and Dossy. Both dresses used in the shoot are from her most recent New Wave collection; clean, pared back styles aimed at brides looking for something more modern.
This was complemented by the bespoke tailored suit from designer Ten30, offering contemporary styling for grooms who want a bit of luxury on their big day too!
With a gorgeous up-do and glowing makeup, our modern bride didn’t need a veil and this certainly didn’t take away from her looking ‘bridal’. If anything this is a city living bride who knows how to have fun.
Finally, in Scotland, the weather is always unpredictable (even in summer!), so Brolly Bucket umbrellas are always a good shout!”
