Afternoon my loves! How’s your week panning out? Any exciting wedding plans this weekend to report? I have some very exciting news.
1. I quit my job {yeeehah I can concentrate on WTW even more } and…
2. I have a brand new sponsor that I think is pretty bloody AWESOME!!
Ciara Mullen from Wed in London recently set up an online vintage wedding dress boutique, Dita Florita. Ciara offers a very exciting service where you can purchase an original vintage wedding dress online and try it on in the comfort of your own home… I’ll pass you over to our lovely Ciara where she can explain all…
Dita Florita is my new baby, launched just last month and born out of my own frustration in searching for a wedding dress. I always intended to wear to two dresses at my wedding, a full-length more traditional dress during the day and a short, comfortable number so I can dance late into the night.
I have always been a fan of recycling old clothes and picking up little gems in vintage and charity shops, and so the idea of choosing a vintage dress as my evening wedding dress really appealed to me. My search however proved fruitless. My choice was to either spend a shocking amount of money on what was only going to be a second dress, or buy a cheaper one from the internet, with no idea as to whether it would fit or even suit me.
It was at this very point that the seeds of Dita Florita were sown. I set about launching an online vintage wedding dress boutique, selling reasonably priced original vintage gowns but with a modern service. Dita Florita is the UK’s first online boutique to offer vintage wedding dresses for sale on a fully returnable basis.
Brides can order a dress online and it will be delivered straight to their door within 3 working days. They then have up to 10 days in which to decide if it is the perfect dress for them. If not, they can simply pop it back in the post and receive a refund.
The images from Dita Florita’s first ever styled shoot which featured on Rock n Roll Bride. At the time that the concept for the shoot was being discussed there was a lot of talk in the industry regarding the popularity of all things vintage and whether this was a fleeting trend or a lasting niche in the wedding market.
Photographer Laura Babb suggested that the shoot could illustrate how vintage dresses could be incorporated into a modern wedding and stylist Meryl Tabner of Home Grown Bride set about coordinating our Modern Vintage shoot.
What an absolutely stunning shoot!! I love the modern twist on the vintage wedding trend. Well done to all involved, fabulous styling from Mel and don’t forget to pop on over to Dita Florita where you can see all the wedding dress pretty.
