Engagement Shoot

Rabbit Heart | Engagement Shoot

Hey ladies, do you remember a while ago I ran a competition to win your very own engagement shoot with Modern Vintage Weddings? Well, I’m super duper excited to share our lucky winners, Stacey + Adam’s shoot with you today on Want That Wedding! It’s definitely all kinds of awesome and I love, love, love their ‘Rabbit Heart’ theme. Who doesn’t love a bit of Florence + The Machine eh? Mr Wickham has done a spectacular job capturing these pretty images, I love how he captured the light giving this outdoor engagement shoot an ethereal, romantic quality. Words by Stacey.

I had bought Adam tickets to see Ocean Colour Scene for his birthday; a band he has loved since he was a teenager. We went along to the gig with two friends.

As the warm up act started to play, Adam and I started talking about our future plans and all of a sudden I felt those 4 BIG WORDS were coming! My first reaction was to say “Dont ask me here, dont ask me in front of all these people!” And then it came…!

He took me aside and got down on one knee, said a little speech that I was too thrown by to remember, except for “Will you marry me!?” And there, in the middle of Brixton Academy…I said yes!

We were so thrilled to win the engagement shoot with David, as we loved his style! We both love Florence + The Machine and took inspiration from the ‘Rabbit Heart’ video. We wanted something quite wild and natural as we’re both very laid back and wanted something that would reflect that.

The morning before the shoot I made a floral garland with jasmine leaves and roses from the garden and a few bits of ivy stolen from our neighbours hedge! We’d been trying to arrange the shoot for months but the changeable English weather kept intervening. Even on the day itself a thunderstorm hit London but David’s positive “it’ll brighten up” had a miraculous effect and it was a glorious afternoon in Epping Forest.

David made us feel so relaxed and really got the kind of vibe we were after.. We could tell straight away that the photos were going to look amazing and we wanted him for our Big Day.

Continuing the wild, nature theme, we will be getting married at The Green, Cornwall, an old cheese farm situated in 14 acres of land at the edge of Bodmin Moor.

We are planning a very relaxed affair, lots of wild flowers, hand made lanterns hanging from the trees, a bit of a nostalgic feel to it. The groom, best man and the ushers will also be wearing kilts in honour of Adam’s Scottish background!

Stacey- I love that Adam and I can be completely daft together. We often dance round the house like lunatics singing at the tops of our voices! I knew it was love early on, when I couldn’t bare to be apart from him.

Adam- Stace gets me, 100%. It’s in the way we laugh together, the way we cook together, the way we watch films together. That special invisible thread that connects us no matter where we are.

I bet Stacey and Adam are overjoyed with these images, they make such a lovely couple too don’t they? Their sweet story has me feeling all gooey inside, gonna go home now and give my hubs a big fat kiss!

p.s. can’t wait to see their wedding…
