Timeless With Pale Pink Accents: Real Wedding
How’s your Tuesday going my loves? My day has been good-didly-ud, even though I’m a walking zombie. I just cannot get enough sleep at the mo!! It was so exciting to see that first glimmer of spring yesterday, it really does fill me with the joy of spring. Everything feels so shiny and new and I cannot wait for all those pretty springtime weddings I’m going to be featuring! Maybe one of them will be your big day?
Today’s real wedding is a gem! The photographer captured so many beautiful images it was hard for me to whittle them down to a manageable post. Alexia and Matthieu married in Montreal, Canada and their day had an elegant and timeless feel. Alexia chose a pretty pale pink colour scheme…

I love throwing parties but for my wedding I wanted it to be different. I think we have all our lives to throw themed parties and our wedding day is the ultimate party. For me it should be timeless, elegant and the most important element should be love, not showing what we have. I wanted it to be classy and classic.
I tried a few wedding dresses on and it became clear pretty fast that this was the best shape for my body. I wanted something elegant, comfortable to dance in and simple. I loved the fabric and the timeless wedding gown feel. I didn’t want to look back 20 years from now and say what the hell was I thinking?!
I chose gorgeous Badgley Mischka Randall ruffled bridal sandals in Pink as I wanted a touch of color.
I wanted big juicy bouquets for myself and my maids. My favorite flowers are peonies, so I choose to add them to our bouquets.
The bridesmaid dresses were Sweetheart, A-line dresses in a Pearl Pink chiffon. I wanted a gown that would fit every girl beautifully, no matter her size, height or skin colour. I wanted everyone to feel beautiful and comfortable in their dress.
For the church decor I chose babies breathe, I love their color and light effect.
My father gave me away and I walked down the aisle to an acoustic version of Today by Joshua Radin.
My veil was a Spanish Mantilla; my something borrowed from my closest cousin Valerie. She wore it the year before at her wedding.
I chose La Toundra for its outdoor feel, beautiful surrounding gardens, high ceilings and most of all for all the freedom I had with the room. We wanted to do everything ourselves and choose everything from the food, to the chairs, tablecloths…everything. With the Toundra it was like having an empty canvas ready to be transformed into a dream.
For the reception I expected a lot more flowers for a garden feel. I wanted very tall and long flowers on the tables.
I chose to have a sweet table with 5 cakes. I love cake so we had 5 different flavours and they all tasted great. Each cake was so beautiful. I was inspired by a few cakes I saw on Pinterest.
My favourite was covered in beautiful, small, delicate white flowers.
Our florist 5Ssens also provided the other elements of decor like the candles, draping, trees etc. I sewed the taupe tablecloths with my mom.
We had a great connection with our wedding photographers, Ellaphotography. They were very professional yet approachable, everything went smoothly.
We wanted beautiful souvenirs and we still can’t decide which pictures to print as all the pictures are so beautiful.
We had a lot of fun with the cameras, every time we look at the pictures we see something else we love that we didn’t see before. Every shot is great! I’d recommend them to every bride.
Our most memorable moment? It was all so great! It was the best day of our lives filled with love, life, joy and every good feeling.
I loved waking up that day knowing it was our wedding day. I loved getting ready with all my best friends and my family around me.
What a beautiful wedding and thank you for sharing it with me and my readers! Please leave the happy couple a little bit of blog love.
