Hello my lovelies, I love sharing cute and quirky wedding inspiration with you and today I’ve a pretty pretty wedding shoot inspired by Lewis Caroll’s, Alice’s Adventures In Wonderland. A Mad Hatter’s Tea Party no less!
The talented wedding stylist behind the shoot wanted to take this classic wedding theme and give it a pretty, paired down make over with a modern vintage vibe. The shoot is crammed with gorgeous details and ideas, from the use of moss, succulents and orchid’s root, the pretty mismatching floral crockery, to the sweetest ‘drink me’ apothecary bottles… enjoy :) XxX

The inspiration for the shoot came from watching Alice In Wonderland one Sunday afternoon. However, I didn’t want to take the obvious route of a bright and colourful theme as I wanted it to have a softer, more vintage look and feel to appeal to the current trends that are so dominant in the wedding industry at the moment.
The muted, earthy colours sat beautifully against the gorgeous backdrop of the gardens at Lower Slaughter Manor. It was important to me to make sure I showcased something that not only reflected my creativity, but also would appeal to any bride.
I wanted to express how easy it is to achieve such a beautiful & stylish look on a small budget just by using your imagination & creativity. Handmade favours using brown paper, hessian pouches finished with ribbon and beads gave the cutlery a new lease of life and turned them into a centre piece all of their own.
I have always believed, “It’s all in the detail” and this shoot hopefully proved that with some design flair & vision, you can create a magical setting for your perfect day without it costing the earth!
A few words by Nicola of Weddings by Nicola & Glen… We worked with such a great team for this shoot and Kathryn managed to update a classic theme, bringing in a beautiful modern palette with vintage style. I also loved Girl Flower’s contemporary floral design elements which I felt really brought all the elements to life. The succulents, moss and Orchid roots worked beautifully with the styling and brought an edge to the whimsical theme.
Gorgeous, gorgeous work everyone and thank you so much for sharing with the WTW blog! I am sure that there will be many brides out there loving the softer approach to this typically bold and bright, whimsical wedding theme. Do you want to see a real inspired Mad Hatter’s Wedding?
