50s Pin-Up Bride: Oh My Honey

The shoot features my 50s bridal fashion crush, Oh My Honey wedding dresses and is paired with super quirky irregular choice shoes and fun, alternative bridal jewelery! Enjoy XxX

“I’ve had the pleasure to work with Louise of Oh My Honey and her fabulous frocks on several occasions.

When I heard about her 2013 Bridal Collection, I couldn’t resist the urge to start planning a little styled shoot.

I had recently make the acquaintance of Lexi of Rockabetty Studios and the idea of ‘Pin-Up goes Bridal’ sprang to mind and wouldn’t go away!

So, I set about assembling a select number of contributors to bring the concept to life. Sarah of Miss Cake loaned us some of her fabulous laser-cut bridal jewellery and Irregular Choice of Brighton gave us two pairs of shoes of my choice (I was like a kid in a sweet shop!).

We set up Lexi’s portable studio in Louise’s living room, where Charlotte also got to work transforming myself and Georgie (aka Cherry Bella, burlesque dancer extraordinaire) into picture perfect pin-ups. Lexi did an amazing job of directing us into flattering poses which showed off the dresses and accessories beautifully.

The shoot day was full of laughter and I’m so grateful to the team for a job well done!”

50s wedding dresses are not just for cute, retro girls oh noooo. I think they make a super flattering choice of bridal gown if you’re a little bit curvy! I have an old fashioned English pear shape and 50s dresses totally flatter my figure. Nipping me in at the waste and flaring out over my ‘problem’ area.
