That’s The Way To Blog It | Blogging Advice

I have huge amounts of admiration for blogs like Rock n’ Roll Bride and Burnetts Boards who often write informative and interesting articles on blogging. They really have the knack for just explaining things in the right way and I find myself wanting to emulate them. Unfortunately though, writing tis’ not my strongest point.

In my early days of blogging I became a little caught up in the ‘being controversial’ bug that was going around and I sometimes thought that I needed to be saying something personal or continually revealing myself to be considered ‘interesting’ to others. What I quickly came to realise though, was that wasn’t me… I was being a bit forced. So I made a big decision. To just be me and to do what I am good at, and that ain’t writing…

What I am good at though, is curating a beautiful wedding blog full of wonderful wedding ideas and being ridonkulously excited about it. Coz that is me. I have an eye for beauty and a love for weddings, coupled with a passionate mission to share. So I’ll leave the thought provoking articles to the guys that do it best and I’ll continue to bring you what I do best, and that’s provide you with pretty awesome wedding inspiration.

So what’s the point of me telling you this? Don’t be afraid to be you! Whether you work in the wedding industry or you’re a bride to be… Never apologise for who you are or expect yourself to be something you’re not.

  3. Sonia, I agree with you 100%. To be your true self takes courage. In the era of trends it is rather difficult to do something different. As a wedding photographer I often struggle with choosing between doing what I like and what is expected from me. Thank you for sharing your story.
