Today’s real wedding is a California sun soaked array of prettiness and if you’re a girly girl, this one will be totes up your street! Full of feminine detail like lace and pearl and a strikingly pretty ombre colour palette of lilac, pink and a touch of purple .
Mr & Mrs Miranda threw the celebration of a lifetime in their very own backyard! Yes, they pulled the furniture outside and set up a relaxed garden wedding, complete with chill out areas including Moroccan shisha pipes and day beds.
Did I forget to mention that the bride is a total glamazon too… and looks sensational in her beautiful Maggie Sottero wedding dress.

We chose to get married at our home in Long Beach, California because we produce weddings for a living and have seen so many locations we thought it would be special to have our own wedding at home.
We wanted to have a cozy and warm environment where our friends and family would be comfortable. Our wedding at home allowed us to get creative with the décor so that we could create a distinctive seating area with furniture from our home and a few pieces that were rented.
The ring my husband chose set the tone for the wedding. The vintage elements of it inspired the vintage décor and theme. For the cocktail hour we played music from the 1920s to 40s.
My Maggie Sottero gown was chosen because of the unique lace it was made out of and that it also had a small train, nothing too big just enough to give it a little drama. It was also a sweetheart cut which was a must have for me.
We purchased flowers from an LA flower market and arranged them ourselves! I added a locket that we purchased from our very first trip to NY – it contained pictures of my grandmothers.
I chose to get ready with my girlfriends, they all chose their own dresses and shoes in complimentary shades.
For the ceremony a vintage fireplace mantle was used with an array of flowers hung on the shrubs behind. The fireplace mantle was decorated with candles, flowers and a vintage clock.
The best moment was when I was walking down the aisle and saw my husband for the first time and the smile on his face, it was the best moment of my my life.
My father walked me down the aisle to Elton John’s ‘Our Song’.
Ken and I met while we were in high school and have had been dating for ten years when Ken proposed on our favorite beach, Crystal Cove. We decided to get married on our eleven year anniversary.
One other element of our wedding day that was extremely special to us was we asked my Uncle to marry us. We wanted someone to marry us that knew us and would help create a more personalized experience.
Our living room furniture was used to create another small outdoor living room, accented with rented vintage trunks and lamps. To give the space a warm feeling crystals were hung from the trees and purple roses wired to the end of the crystals.
Our home already has one outdoor seating area that we accented with vintage chandeliers. The groom made two day beds with an antique white floral fabric to create a hookak lounge area.
Our cakes and treats were made by my sister-in-law.
Could you imagine planning a wedding at home? Unfortunately, I don’t even have a back garden so that would never fly for me! But I can just imagine how personal and intimate it must feel. Amazing!
Massive congrats to our lovely couple and thank you so much to Marissa Peterson for sharing their gorgeous day with the WTW blog.
Ladies and gents, do please leave some love.
