Today’s intimate and stylish wedding is full of gorgeous Hollywood glamour and timelessly pretty wedding details. With a modern colour palette of jade, blue, grey and hints of gold, plus lots of grown-up sparkle, I think you’ll be super inspired.
Our elegant bride Evette rocked a chic red lip, simple bhldn gown and a seriously swoon-worthy pair of Badgley Mischka wedding shoes and looks adorably in love with her now husband Robert.

We knew that we wanted a small and intimate wedding so we wanted a space that wouldn’t be too big and we also knew that we wanted the wedding to be where we call home which is San Francisco.
We got engaged in March so we only had 4 months to plan the wedding and most places in San Francisco are booked a year in advance so I searched the SF Parks and Rec page to search for venues because I knew it would be our least expensive option and with so many parks in the city there had to be one available in July.
Sunnyside Conservatory popped up in my search and the day we went to go see it, Robert said this is exactly where I want to marry you! It was perfect for us, it only holds 75 people and the house was built in the 1800’s by an English inventor and stargazer William Augustus Merralls.
There are windows all around bringing in incredible natural light and it sits in a hundred year old palm grove and there are succulents everywhere, palm tress and succulents are my favorite! It was perfect for us and it was available the day we wanted.
I chose to keep my accessories simple the neckline on my dress was high and I’m pretty minimal in my everyday wear didn’t want to not feel like myself on my wedding day. My earrings were borrowed from a friend, my sash was also BHLDN and my amazing shoes were Badgley Mischka.
For my look, I always knew I wanted to wear red lip stick on my wedding day. Most brides go for nude but I always felt that if there was a day to spice it up a bit, my wedding day is that day.
Plus, I love the contrast of a bold lip and minimal eye makeup and red lipstick is a part of my makeup look outside of work so it didn’t feel too out of my range for that day.
Old Hollywood Glam is a look I adore and I wanted to feel sophisticated, timeless, and glamorous that day.
In my search for a dress I found that a majority of the gowns I liked were all on the BHLDN website so I booked an appointment at the boutique in Beverly Hills and my consultant was AMAZING!
She acknowledged my list but encouraged me to try on a few dresses not on my list and I let her pick the one she thought was best for my body type and style and I ended up picking the dress she picked out for me!
I loved how well it fit my body, it was classic, simple, and elegant and made me feel sophisticated and glamorous. I also knew that it would look killer with my red lipstick!
Our photographer is also a great friend of mine, Anastasiia was already who I wanted to shoot my wedding before I had even started dating Robert.
Watching her grow in her craft has been amazing! She is extremely passionate and dedicated to her passion and I am no t one who likes to be the center of attention so it was comforting to have a friend shoot such special and intimate moments.
I know she cares for me and Robert and would go to any lengths to make our day special and memorable.
I found out about Amanda Vidmar my florist through a co-worker and friend of mine. I was told she was very talented but also just a great person and since I would be living in San Francisco she could very well turn into being a great friend to have.
I reached out to Amanda and we set something up immediately and after Robert and I met her we knew she was our girl! She was so open to our ideas and wanting to keep things simple and minimal in cost. She was so excited for us and she instantly felt like a friend.
I knew I wanted to incorporate succulents into my bouquet and keep the main colors in the bouquet white ivory and green. Robert wanted to have a succulent boutonniere so we told her as long as those are the main colors I trust her decision in the type of flowers she chose and to just have fun and be creative.
Our best man was Roberts brother Mike, he and Robert wore a Kenneth Cole Tan Linen Suit with a Michael Kors grey silk tie. All of Roberts family lives in New York so it made it easy to be consistent with the suit and accessories.
My Father gave me away and our photographer even arranged a first look for him and I before the ceremony so we can talk and pray with each other before he gave me away. It was a really special moment for him and I to share.
I walked down the aisle to an Elvis Presley song, “Can’t Help Falling In Love” I chose this song because my late Grandmother loved Elvis. We would listen to Elvis songs, watch Elvis movies with her and I wanted to feel close to her that day and the song is so beautiful and it just made sense us to walk down to that.
Our most memorable moment of that whole day was when Robert and I took communion together and prayed over each other during the ceremony. We wanted it to be our time to connect and really absorb and soak in the moment.
We didn’t have any microphones on us while we prayed. Only he and I know what we said to each other that day and declared over our marriage and it was perfect.
My advice when wedding planning would be to stay as true to yourself and what you both want as much as possible!! There is a lot of pressure to make the day what everyone wants it to be and sometimes it can feel very overwhelming to please everyone, so if possible, have the conversation with your families of what you want your day to look and feel like and why it’s important to you.
Also, I got so overwhelmed by loads of information and options that I realized why it takes most people a year or more to plan a wedding. It’s hard to make a decision when you have over 500 options for invitations – so I made it a point to always come up with a top 3 for everything and did my best to not take a month to make one decision because I was limited on time.
Lastly, once you decide on something STOP LOOKING AND PINNING!!! You may second guess yourself and that will just be a vicious cycle, trust yourself and your taste, at the end of the day it’s the meaning behind what you’re doing that counts.
Our first dance song was Coming Home by Leon Bridges. When looking for a song we thought it was hilarious that we didn’t have a song in mind. While working early mornings in the bakery I would play the Leon Bridges album Coming Home and every time that song came on I thought of Robert and so we decided to go with that song.
Thanks so much to the amazing Anastasiia Photography – we hope to see more of your beautiful images on the blog. congratulations to Evette & Robert too, thank you for letting us be a small part of your beautiful big day.
