French Boho Chic: A Bijou Bride, in Copper & Blush

There’s something about French style which has always fascinated me. The way they can sit and drink coffee in the sunshine, without any effort, and look like a photo straight out of Vogue, always floors me. They also have a wonderful innate self confidence, which is so different to our English modesty. I love it. They just carry themselves differently, and since living here in the winters, I’ve been dying to shoot something inspired by it.

I’ve always shooting boho bridal gowns, as well as the more loose and organic wedding styling that goes with it. But I always put a unique slant on it. I like taking themes which appear to oppose the boho idea, and create something new.

This time, I took ‘boho’ to France, and injected it with a little bijou French chic. Relaxed and pretty as boho should be, but with some of that chic style, self-assured attitude, and authentic detail. Shot in the French Alps, at a tiny village chapel, and a beautiful vintage wine bar, every detail and view is entirely authentic. I wanted it to feel effortless, and not styled.

The over all feel here is soft and pretty, understated and chic. Bohemian- but less of the beachy and more of the bijou.

My model Patricia, wore Faith Caton’s stunning ‘Florence’ gown. Dripping in lace detailing, loose in fit, with a gorgeous low back. The weight of the lace, though light in look, moved beautifully. Our model was in heaven the entire shoot.

Polly and Me provided stunning copper stationery and calligraphy work. Her work is always so simple and pretty, and the copper leaf picked up on all the other copper highlights in the shoot.

Sarah Miller’s make up was flawless. A pretty look, but with a dramatic eye. We
left Patricia’s hair completely natural and boho.

Make up used:
Eyes: Shadow urban decay naked 2 and 3
Lashes: Eldora
Skin: Airbase Airbrush
Lips: Hug me by MAC

Sonya Pollit’s floral work was one of the highlights of this shoot for me. Everything from her table centre, to the flower crown and bouquet: Using a selection of fresh organic spring flowers I created floral arrangements with an elegant yet wild and natural look; a stylish loose bouquet with a spray of blush and copper colours, a bohemian flower crown intertwined with sweet smelling jasmine and an exquisite table arrangement. The understated sophistication of the flowers were designed to compliment and enhance the vintage charm of the Chic French Bride.

Such a pretty shoot captured perfectly by the lovely Gemma of The Wardette Studio. Loving the french boho chic style!
