This whimsical, Alice in Wonderland inspired shoot was the bride and grooms vision with flawless execution by stylist, Emily Santome. Amiee & Kevin flew from Australia to wed in Las Vegas. This beautiful, outdoor photo shoot was a gorgeous, fun addition to their chapel wedding.
The inspiration came from the bride and groom. Amiee asked for an Alice in Wonderland, whimsical theme, so that is what we went with. It was a little more subtle, lots of pops of pinks with hints of keys and clocks and of course lots of tea cups to give it that Alice feel.
Emily found the large clock set out for the trash on the side of the road a few weeks before the shoot. How perfect is that? The dishes were found at our local thrift store.
It was all brought together by Emily, through hours of planning, pre-set-up and a few hours on the day of the shoot. The location was chosen as a semi-forest looking location where the table could nestle perfectly in between the two trees.
How to recreate:
Here are a few ways to easily incorporating some of these elements into your own wedding day. I would suggest replacing a traditional cake with something like these fun, sparkly cupcakes. Or maybe a large cake that’s a little uneven. The trick to making your big day whimsical, with a touch of Alice in Wonderland, is adding lots of delicate teacups and various clocks and keys.
Any of these items could be used for table decorations as well as favors for your guests. Your local thrift store would most likely have a great selection of cute little teacups. Searching thrift stores is not only cost effective but a fun way to spend the day with your bridesmaids, mom or spouse-to-be!
You can play around with the silverware sizes for your head table as well as your guests. The silverware could either be way too large, or way too small. It’s a simple, fun way to incorporate the play on Alice in Wonderland’s theme of wonky proportions. Don’t forget to add moss instead of table runners, colorful flowers as centerpieces with a few wooden elements to add texture and give it that woodsy, forest feel.
If it’s a little off-kilter, then it will fit perfectly into an Alice in Wonderland theme. Don’t be afraid to get creative, fun and even a little silly. Your options are truly endless!
Massive love to the incredible people below who put this shoot together for our gorgeous bride and groom Amiee & Kevin!
