Dreamy Wild Ombre Inspired Bridal Shoot!

Words by stylist.

This was such a dream team and complete team effort. I knew I wanted to organise a bridal styled shoot, but I am a makeup artist and not a wedding planner. I went into planning this shoot wanting everyone’s ideas and creativeness heard. I wanted something unique in the sense of standing out and not being too traditional.

I also wanted nature to have a voice, be involved and a free spirit to be seen. I knew instinctively that I wanted the dress to have a different approach to bridal wear and set the shoot apart from anything else commonly seen. No traditional white dresses!

Jessica Turner did an amazing job by designing and creating her signature corset ‘Calla Lilly’ to which we added a separate skirt that was layered and dip dyed in pink. I loved the combination of hard and soft and we grew our concept from there.

I wanted to create something rustic and wild yet playful and soft with a romantic ease. Non-traditional, with blush as the base, mixed with nature and some elegance.

Danesfield House was the perfect backdrop for our shoot. They were very accommodating with such an amazing venue for any wedding or special occasion. We worked on the hard and soft theme, by using the beautiful scenery beyond the gorgeous traditional well-kept gardens.

The blossom tree was our stage, and we found ourselves further down by the river later on in the day which gave us a scene of being more in the wild. The gorgeous English day and soft light with rays of sunshine helped tremendously to create the beautiful mood seen.

There is a wildness and ease to this shoot. Calm and soft, yet strong details and hard elements can be seen throughout.

Delce Lusso Cakes created a strong traditional style of the cake showing through yet a different take shown with the pink wooden effect creating the hardness as the base and soft details of the blossoms giving us more blush pink and lightness. The wildness is still seen and true to the theme. The hardness of the corset against the soft flowing skirt in the breeze.

The very non-traditional table, solid, white and with a strong connection to the outdoors. The elegant tableware supplied by Classic Crockery with gold trimmings against our wild moss overgrown table setting gives a scene of elegance to our outdoor ensemble.

The makeup applied by Storme Make Up is strong and soft at the same time. Striking but still pretty and bridal. The hair is relaxed, free but still beautiful and clean, with a scene of wildness.

The hair pieces created by P.S with Love ranging from hair vines to hairpins were handmade from freshwater pearls and crystal vines, nestled amongst pretty leaf details and stunning handmade flowers. The hair accessories finished the look off, incorporating the colours embodying the essence of the theme seen throughout.

The ‘Cassia’ backdrop necklace is simplistic and elegant using the same blush flowers with mixed Swarovski crystals for a subtle sparkle, ivory pearls and 14ct gold filled chain.

The bouquets created by Booms Bloom are textured and playful and not structured but have a slight wildness to them. The flowers used for the arrangements are beautiful Butterfly Ranunculus, Blossom, O’Hara Rose, Poppies and Magnolia, with Twisted Birch, Eucalyptus and Trailing Jasmine Vine. There is an untamed beauty.

Kitty Shaw Wheeler’s photography speaks for itself. She captured the mood that we were trying to create beautifully and was a pleasure to work with.

Holly Rees London designed the stationery that is relaxed, yet bold and sharp from the colours used. There is a lightness that the calligraphy and washed texture enhance.

Eve Ainsbury, our model has a dancing background. She was stunning to watch as she embodied strength and poise, had a lightness to her, and almost danced in the breeze.
