I have known Julie since I was nine years old. She was my best friend all of my life, so when her engagement shoot came around I really wanted to do something special for her. I had this idea of a romantic picnic on the beach with delicate grapes and pretty little details.
When I was shopping for small props for this shoot I saw these lovely pearl spoons made out of real shells; it inspired me to create this lovely setup.
I collected pieces like shells for the plates, vintage candle holders and soft delicate ribbon to tie the session together. We waited for the sun to be almost setting with a soft colour in the sky before I started photographing.
The beautiful gown was designed by Frankie and Maude based out of Bellingham, Washington. They have the most beautiful collections of gowns.
We choose this specific dress for the shoot because it had such a feminine and romantic vibe to it. The lovely train in the dress caught the wind as Julie twirled around in the sunset.
The breeze was just perfect as Denis and Julie slow danced on the beach to the sound of crashing waves against the shore.
The love this couple shares for each other is undeniable.
