Timeless in Vermont, A Classic, Modern Wedding: Tara & Paul

This beautiful Vermont wedding is total timeless wedding inspiration! Dreamy florals, an understated colour palette and lots and lots of magical lights… perfection.

I wore a custom made veil and Paloma Blanca wedding gown. I chose this wedding dress as it was elegant and classic, yet still made me feel a little bit sexy.

Our wedding venue Shelburne Farms is a National Historic Landmark known for its 1900s Gilded Age architecture and sweeping views of Lake Champlain. We wanted to share this beautiful place with everyone we love and care so much about. Shelburne Farms is simple and breathless at the same time.

The style of the buildings, designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, and their integration into the landscape inspired us to create an elegant and timeless wedding.

My father walked me down the aisle. Standing at the altar and exchanging the vows we wrote for each other was so memorable. It was the one moment that was just about us and everything felt so calm.

When it came to the styling of our day it was very important to us to highlight nature in both the ceremony and reception spaces. We did so with lush greenery, beautiful florals, gold accents, and romantic candlelight.

Tara’s mother is Greek and insisted on traditional Greek Wedding favours called Koufetta. Koufetta is five Jordan almonds served in small silk bags. The five almonds represent five wishes for the Bride and Groom: health, wealth, happiness, fertility, and longevity.

If we could offer any advice we would say… Once the weekend starts, you’re in it so enjoy it. Don’t get caught up in making sure things are perfect once it starts. The planning is over and all you can do is take in the experience of a lifetime. Also – give your cell phone to your maid of honour/best man. Any questions or emergencies should not be addressed to either of you!

Also, make sure to take a moment to step back and take it all in. The day goes extremely fast (too fast!) and you’re constantly talking to people. It’s important to make sure you get a few moments to yourselves.
