COAL & INDUSTRIAL LOVE. A Mine Inspired Industrial Wedding Shoot

COAL & INDUSTRIAL LOVE. A Mine Inspired Industrial Wedding Shoot

We carried out this styled wedding shoot in an old coal mine in Asturias (northern Spain), now completely abandoned.

Industrial Past

Like weddings, once you have selected the venue or space, it becomes one of the main sources of inspiration for the design and style, and this was certainly our case here. I should say Asturias has an industrial past closely linked to mining, and the passage of time has left many traces of that time, now in ruins.

However, this decadence is incredible as an artistic expression space. It must also be said that for many people in this region, mining is part of their roots and has marked their lives, with which it has quite a deep meaning for them.

Warm & Vibrant Colour Palette

We knew from the first moment we would use a colour palette in warm and vibrant tones which would contrast with the dark spaces of the industrial mine. We did not need to recharge such a space with decoration. With the peeling paint, the gorgeous light coming through those huge windows and a bronze flower arch, the space was transformed into a place of bridal beauty.

Bridal Styling

The couple styling complemented the industrial background with its simplicity. We chose a romantic and sensual wedding dress and a beautiful headpiece made with natural ferns. The groom’s suit was handmade, and the couple, with their warmth, their looks, their laughs, their passion, lit up every corner.

We were able to take advantage of creating different scenes until the light allowed us, and of course, we wanted to capture some images with such a thin gloom invading the environment.

Inspiration

We hope our experience is inspiring for all those couples who are planning an industrial wedding, we are sure many of them would not mind getting engaged or married in such a place.

Are you a fan of unusual wedding venues? We love the cool and quirky of this abandoned mine. Perfect for an intimate elopement.
