Dreamy Pink, Latte & Gold Wedding Inspiration at The Orangery in Settrington

Pink, Latte & Gold Wedding Inspiration

I’ve worked with Arabella Smith a few times and although I personally don’t work to a set style, I love it when she asks me to create fine art shoots with her. Her photography is always so stunning; I never want to say no. Arabella’s attention to detail is second to none and all the suppliers who work with her get a fantastic variety of images to use so when she asked me to be involved with this shoot it was a definite yes – not to mention the venue is a 5-minute walk from my house!

Already on board was Gayle from Where the Ribbon Ends and Carolyn from Gray Starling Design to supply cakes and stationery respectively.

I asked Alison Martin to create the hair and makeup looks and Diana from Little Pearl Bridal to supply the dresses.

Together Arabella and I searched for the right florist and luckily for us, Jane from Wedding and Events Floral Design said yes.

Micro Wedding Inspiration

We decided on a micro shoot rather than lots of different scenes. We were using one female model only so it made less sense to have a full ceremony or full reception set-up and instead, we focused on one table scene and the rest being close-ups of the detailed extras you can include on your day.

The Orangery also has magnificent grounds and when I went for a reccy in advance, I asked if we could use one of their monuments, which sits, opposite the orangery, offering beautiful scenes of the building and a large fountain in front.

The owners had never done a table set up in there but were only too happy to oblige. With 2020 holding so many restrictions, being able to show how a micro reception table could look in such a stunning setting, really benefited everyone as its something real-life couples could easily recreate there. It also shows that whilst numbers may have to be low, you don’t need to sacrifice the styling details and prettiness of the setup.

The Tablescape

Between Jane and I, we decorated trestle tables set for 12. I used baby pink chiffon runners strategically draped over the top of plain white cloths. The chairs were the venue’s own cream chiavari’s. On the tables were white charger plates with a gold rim, with matching gold rim china dinner plates placed on top. Gold cutlery, cut glass water glasses, plain wine and flute glasses were placed at every seat except at the couple’s seats where cut glass flutes and wine glasses were used for that extra special touch.

Pink chiffon napkins were tied in draping knots with Carolyn’s gold leaf scrolled place settings and hand-painted favour biscuits by Gayle placed aside them on each plate.

Down the centre of the tables was a mixture of florals in bud vases with one larger centrepiece. Jane created a foam-free compote style design in a gold metal urn style container using blush, white and latte Roses with Peonies, Astilbe, Ammi and Jasmine also included.

Pink and latte dinner candles and pillar candles were then mingled in across the table with the dinner candles sitting in gold sticks.

The Bridal Look

We then invited Kayleigh our model to join the scene. Diana dressed Kayleigh in two different Willowby by Watters dresses for the day. The first was the Ophelia, which was a strapless beaded dress, built from Doutzen lace with a structured bodice.

A fur bolero by Sasso Bride was also used in some shots, to show how well the two worked together.

Alison had created a fresh and natural look for Kayleigh’s face, with peach and coral tones and then loose waves on her hair.

Once we’d finished in the grounds, we moved inside the Orangery. This is a vast space, which can have a ceremony and reception set up in the same room but to avoid our model looking lost, we focused on one very small area.

The Cake

Gayle’s cake was a new collaboration between her and Carolyn. The floral design around the centre had been made by Carolyn and printed onto fondant icing to tie the stationery and the cake together.

Gayle then added soft, romantic ruffles with wafer and rice paper to add movement and texture, creating a show-stopping wedding cake.

We set this up on a small table on top of one of Carolyn’s banners. Kayleigh was then placed into the scene, this time wearing the second Willowby by Watters dress; Pisces named so because of its full covering of faux pearls.

This time Alison opted for an updo to show off the plunging neckline of the dress and used a beautiful hairpiece on loan from The Bobby Pin. Kayleigh then had a bolder lip applied to contrast perfectly against the pureness of the dress.

The Flowers, Favours & Stationery

Shots were taken of Kayleigh with and without her bouquet both inside and out which Jane had created in an asymmetric style using the same flowers as on the dining scene, with a silk ribbon wrap.

Arabella finished the shoot by capturing flatlays of both Carolyn’s stationery suite and Gayle’s favour tray, which included more chocolates and fudge brownie ‘lollies’. The stunning stone flooring in the Orangery provided the perfect backdrop for these images.

What an absolutely incredibly beautiful styled shoot, all those lattes, blush pinks and golds are such a dream. There’s just so much wedding inspiration here, whether you’re planning a small wedding or keeping your fingers and toes crossed for a post covid wedding.
