Captured against the cascading cliffs of the Gorge of Victoria Falls at Livingstone Island Zambia, it is truly difficult to believe that this wedding inspiration is mere imagination and not a real wedding. We love the colours, the emotion, how alive everything feels. We love the scenery, the lavish clothing, the wild floral design. We love the fresh inspiration and perspective. Best of all, we love Africa.

While further south on the continent, our monthlong South African introduced the longing we will forever have to visit more and more of this stunning continent. And when we finally can book that fated flight, I hope it will be straight to Mwai’s beautiful Zambia.

Over the last few months, since the passing of Chadwick Boseman, who played the superhero Black Panther in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, I felt deeply touched and inspired by Chadwick’s story as it closely resonates with my own. Read about my cancer journey on my blog Love From Mwai Experiences.

Chadwick and I have a few things in common. We are both of African descent, our African accents never sounded more familiar to the world as they do today, thanks to him, but our private life with cancer is what really connects me to him.

I was born in Zambia. Today, I live in the U.K., but my heart continues to strongly beat for Africa, its people, culture, and especially the African luxury wedding industry.

To celebrate the life of Chadwick and the strong impression he made on the entire world by bringing everyone together. My wedding planning team, Love from Mwai, and I travelled to Zambia in December to do a styled photoshoot inspired by the Black Panther. I put together 40 tribesmen and women to recreate the scene from the waterfall with custom-made traditional outfits.

We did a styled photoshoot that was inspired by the Black Panther, the African landscape, and the unity of African people.
