Wedding Ideas for 2022! Heavy Metal Meets Contemporary Sophistication

Wedding Ideas for 2022!

The team’s vision was to create a modern and stunningly beautiful inspirational wedding shoot at Hodsock Priory that oozes the wow factor! Hodsock Priory says ‘From the minute you sweep through the archway of the Tudor Gatehouse, you’ll be transported into another world in this timeless, country home.’

The Wedding Dresses

We were spoilt with a choice of three dresses by Holmes & Co Bridal, designed by Enzoani to fashion. For the first look, Olivia wore Olympia – a long-sleeved dress with gorgeous plumes of tulle in the skirt and Nikola – an a-line wedding dress with a full organza skirt and floral illusion lace detail on an unlined bodice. Makeup was very natural for this look and the hair was styled as a low updo with lots of texture going throughout the crown area. Finished with a beautiful tiara by Halo & Co.

For the second look, our bride wore the Monika crepe soft flowing mermaid dress and cape with draped off the shoulder balloon sleeves coupled together with these amazing shoulder pads by Halo & Co. We wanted the hair to be quite quirky and to compliment the hairpin and shoulder pads. Olivia had a slight wave with added volume and a small braid to showcase the hairpin also supplied by Halo & Co. The glamourous make-up was applied with smokey eyes, extra lases and dark pink lipstick.

The Wedding Inspiration & Styling

The styling was a team effort in the ‘Pavilion’ room, between Keith Woods & Events, Fantail Designer Florist and the Fabric Theatre. We specifically chose this suite for the beautiful natural light given by the windows that surround it. We love the table designs as they ooze contemporary sophistication. The circular table was centred underneath a bespoke freestanding chandelier by Fabric Theatre and to create a fuller than normal wedding table, we filled the centre with flowers and candlesticks which sat on a new mirrored top supplied by Keith Woods Weddings & Event. The long table was a little more luxurious, concentrating on not only the space between each item but also making sure it was even and balanced. Glass candelabras were spaced evenly with silver urns filled with blooms including those from Fantail’s own cut garden.

The Cake

A beautiful three-tiered pastel blue cake was created by Charlotte Wilcox Cakes, with absolutely amazing sugar artistry! The colours were perfect to compliment the overall theme of the wedding shoot.

Moving outside to the pergola where the Fabric Theatre decorated the underside with mirrored balls and ribbons. The Pergola is new for Hodsock Priory who can now host outdoor weddings. We think all couples can take elements from this set-up and make it their own on the same scale or take elements from it.

The Flowers

As one of the leading florists in Sheffield, we always aim to inspire our couples by being ahead on wedding trends – setting them rather than following them. As lock-down started we took the plunge to create our own cut garden and this is our second Spring growing British grown flowers and foliage. We grow flowers specifically for our couples and the wedding work we do and take so much pleasure in seeing the final result knowing that we’re doing our bit to help the environment. This shoot particularly shows our love for varieties of Tulips that are just a little bit different from the norm and all the designs are completely foam-free. This is something that we are also very proud to accomplish without compromising on the finished look or quality of our work.

The Wedding Film

Nathan Buck is an amazing filmmaker for weddings. He captured the day perfectly and really showed the result in a funky and modern way.
