Valentine Avoh offers us a refined collection full of sensuality, executed as an ode to Haute-Couture and craftsmanship for the modern brides in search of glamour, minimalism, originality and comfort.

The line between red carpet gowns and wedding dresses is very thin, which is one of the characteristics of the designer who likes to think of her dresses as little jewels for occasions but not as proper wedding dresses. A wedding is above all a party and these dresses are intended to make a remarkable entrance!
The references to the past are distilled with taste and delicacy as a nod to Valentine’s eras of predilection, the 30s being an obvious favourite. This fascination is reflected in dresses cut on the bias hugging perfectly the curves of the bride, skilfully studied drapes that enhance the décoletté and exclusive fabrics.
One of the starting points of the collection was the Hollywood “pre-code” period and more particularly Jean Harlow’s movies such as “Dinner at 8” and “Redheaded woman” “The outfits fascinated me as much as the uniqueness of this period where women played very strong, tabooless and assertive roles in the cinema “I wanted to infuse a little of this atmosphere into the collection and campaign while keeping it very contemporary”.
Luxurious Italian silk crepe, light floating organza and Calais lace is complemented by beaded embroidery created by Valentine in collaboration with a small atelier specialized in hand embroidery. The Harlow and Ruby dresses are a testament to this know-how. One through its crepe de chine embroidered with delicate little pearl triangles reminiscent of the art deco aesthetic. The other with its embroidery mixing flowers and abstract patterns in an exquisite gradient.

Located in the heart of Brussels, Valentine Avoh offers light, refined and playful wedding dresses with a Haute Couture spirit, combining surprising details and timeless cuts.
Graduated in fashion design from the London College of Fashion, the Belgian designer worked for more than 10 years for prestigious international houses such as Alexander McQueen, Alexis Mabille and San Andrès Milano. While completing her first wedding dress in 2009, she fell in love with the handcrafted process. Five years later, she launched her own brand and then opened her atelier in Brussels in 2017, where she creates each piece in the manner of the greatest names in Couture.
From Rita Hayworth’s undeniable glamour to the mysterious sensuality of Marlène Dietrich, her world is a mix of cinematographic and musical references. The songs of Billie Holiday and Ella Fitzgerald exude their charm throughout Valentine’s creations. Passionate about the intimate aspect of a wedding dress and the continuous dialogue with her clients, she welcomes each woman herself, designing their dress with her. The time she spends with her clients makes her approach creative, unique and intimate.
