Best Wedding Songs for 2022
Sorting the playlist for your wedding day has got to be at the top of the wedding planning priority list, right?
One of the things I was most looking forward to with regards to my wedding day and celebrating with my nearest and dearest was the wedding party. I just couldn’t wait to dance the night away as a newlywed.
And as a music lover with a wide an eclectic taste in music, I had a big long list for my wedding DJ of all the tunes I wanted playing to get the party started and more importantly, keep it going.
Recently London wedding DJ Gary of Fizz and Groove was listed on the WTW directory and we obvs got to talking bout’ wedding music. Today he shares with us what tunes will be big for weddings in 2022. So here we go… Best wedding songs for 2022. Let’s go!

Lana Del Ray – Young and beautiful
Floor Fillers
Queen – Don’t stop me now
Tiesto – Let’s get down to business

Earth, Wind & Fire – September (my most requested ever song, it has been on about 75% of my playlists of all the weddings I have ever DJ’ed at)
Faithless – Insomnia (released originally in 1995, but still blows up dance floors 27 years on)
Darude – Sandstorm (how could I mention Insomnia without Sandstorm. This was released in 2000 but is also still a banger 22 years later)
Last song
Florence and the machine – you’ve got the love (or for a bit of a funner, dance mix, the candi station version)
Ben E King – Stand by me
Oasis – Wonderwall
Marvin Gaye – let’s get it on
Queen – Somebody to love
Etta James – At last
Alternative euphoric last dance song
Hip hop fans – Coolio – Gangsters paradise
Rock fans – Nirvana – Smells like teen spirit
House/Ibiza fans – Robert Miles – Children
The most important thing about the first and last wedding songs is that they truly reflect the tastes of you and the person you are marrying, they will be moments that you remember for the rest of your life. If you are unsure always speak to your DJ, if they are experienced, they will be able to suggest ideas based on your tastes or based on what has worked well previously. The DJ really is one of the most important suppliers you will pick for your big day as they can make or break a party – so choose wisely and make sure you have the right person/company for you as a couple.
I’ve gotta say, there are some absolute floor fillers in this lineup, but tell me, did your favourite tune make the cut? Let us know in the comments.
Huge thanks to Gary from Fizz and Groove for this article, best wedding songs for 2022.
