Wild Flowers Wedding
We married at Kingsettle Stud, Cholderton in Hampshire near Bede’s family home, a gorgeous English country setting, with amazing gardens and a relaxed feel. It was the first venue we found online and the only one we visited in person. Susie who runs the venue was excellent, very friendly and helpful. You get the place to yourselves all weekend.
Our actual ceremony was in St Mary’s Church Monxton, around the corner from where Bede grew up.

I liked the versatility of bridal separates and the greater potential of wearing the pieces more than once. The intricate lace of the Rion top and halter neck style was just a gorgeous combination. The company has a great ethos. There were great skirts at Catherine Deane, but I wanted a 100% silk skirt to have the option of dying it afterwards. I found Seni Dey through Etsy and really liked the made-to-measure business model.
I walked down the aisle to the Detectorist theme song by Johnny Flynn played on guitar by a school friend of Bede’s. We had another friend (one of the groomsmen) sing as we signed the register and then walked out of the church to an organ version of Toto’s Africa.
Our florist was Flowers with wild abandon. Sophie lived in the Cholderton Estate then and had the most wonderfully natural and vibrant style. We just said we wanted very colourful flowers and pretty much left the rest to her.
We only really had the flowers for wedding decor and let the charm of the venue largely do all the work! We bought some LED outdoor candles to dot around and sourced an array of bold-coloured napkins for the tables (which we then gave a set of to the wedding party and our parents as thank yous/memoirs).
Andy and Szerdi were our wedding photographers. We found them on Instagram and fell in love with their vibrant style. They were amazing on the day, making us feel very comfortable and never stealing us away for too long. We couldn’t be happier with the pictures!
We didn’t have one wedding cake but a cake table with bakes made by four baking enthusiast friends and myself. I’m a keen baker, and we have the best family carrot cake recipe so I made a two-tiered one as the showpiece. I bought fresh edible flowers to decorate all the cakes. I decorated the carrot cake the day before the wedding and Susie did the rest as people brought the other cakes on the day
What a wonderful colourful wedding. That hanging wedding flower installation is something else!
