Couple’s story:
Kate & Tom felt incredibly conflicted when planning their wedding. A huge part of them wanted to elope in the mountains but they also felt torn to celebrate with their closest family and friends at home in the UK, so they came up with a compromise.
Even though legal weddings are possible in Austria for couples who don’t live here, Kate & Tom decided that it would be a more stress-free experience to have their civil wedding in England the weekend before their trip to Austria. To celebrate their civil marriage, they invited friends and family to a garden party at their home.
A few days after their civil wedding, they flew to Innsbruck in the Austrian Alps for their elopement adventure.
During the planning stages, they were torn between a summer or winter elopement, since they both loved hiking and skiing in the mountains. In the end, they chose summer, but I helped them to incorporate their love of winter and snow by taking them to one of Tirol’s magnificent glaciers, which has snow and ice on it year-round.
To make their adventure extra special, they chose to spend the night in a mountain hut and get up early the next morning for the sunrise and a full day of guided hiking across glaciers and via crystal clear alpine lakes.
