We chose Tunnels Beaches wedding venue because Matt is from the Isle of Wight so we loved the idea of a beach venue! We went to visit and just fell in love with it – it had a perfect mixture of being laid back but also a very slick operation. Secondly, I love BBQ food and the reviews of the food were all sensational – the idea of having ice creams in cones instead of sit-down pudding was just very us. We also loved the Tunnels does the little extras like garden paella for the bride and groom’s party the night before (which was also delicious)!!
They then happened to have the last Saturday in May free by complete luck and it all just worked out perfectly.
My dad gave me away – he has two daughters and I am the first to get married so he was waiting for this moment for a while!
He actually didn’t want to wear the same as the groomsmen as he wanted his own style and even had a sausage dog tie on (I was less sure about that but he was happy haha).
When it came to the wedding decor, we actually used this as another opportunity to keep costs down. We had a large sign made from Etsy saying “Welcome to MoYo Wedding” Matt’s surname being Mowlam and mine Young. Then for the seating chart, we made this with similar colouring to our sign and lots of collected seashells.
For the tables, we actually bought some supermarket flowers and used the buds for the tables with the rocks made by my sister, more seashells and table names based on beaches on the Isle of Wight. Finally, we had flip-flops, sparklers, and marshmallows for toasting which all filled up more of the venue.
I am not able to say enough positive words about Lee and how amazing he was on our wedding day and the period before and after it. Most importantly the photos were stunning – he completely understood that we wanted a candid, laid-back vibe and just someone who would really capture what the day was like. On top of that, he took some stunning scenic shots which are already framed and on our walls (and those of our friends and families). What I did not expect was for Lee to go above and beyond by acting as a secondary wedding organiser, gently pointing out times when we might want to cut the cake or moving things to help make the day that little bit better. I would recommend him to anyone and can genuinely say the day would not have been as good without him.
