When I saw this wedding captured by one of my favourite wedding photographers, Claire Morgan, I fell head-over-heels in love and knew it was a real Want That Wedding, Wedding. The gorgeous bride and groom totally did it their way!
Hedda and Ammier wanted an unfussy, minimalist and elegant styled wedding and boy, did they pull that off. Hedda looks breathtakingly beautiful in her simple, grey satin, Jenny Packham dress and oh my word I think she has the chic-est momma in the whole wide world!
Claire beautifully captures their perfect wedding day and here you can enjoy the emotion and gorgeousness of it all. Words by Hedda.
I wanted a minimalistic and elegant styled wedding that felt like me and no pre-created bridal package. I didn’t make any overarching decisions on theme etc., but as we made one choice at a time (the dress was the very first thing to be settled!) that felt right, the overall expression of the wedding just materialised.

I wanted something elegant and minimalistic and not too “bridal” – the Jenny Packham look was perfect (I bought my dress before Kate M became her muse;)). I first looked at her bridal collection, but then this dress (spring/summer 2011) caught my eye and it just slipped on, a perfect fit and felt just right – the silk and the cut is amazing.
We chose to marry in Vienna as we lived there for 3 years. So Vienna is our city (we live in Norway now, I am Norwegian, Ammier is British). We chose the venue as the view is amazing and the venue has this magnificent combination of picturesque and minimalistic modern. Somewhat low-key, a personal atmosphere, yet quality in every detail. We entered and it just felt right.
My headpiece is also by Jenny Packham.
I wore black diamond earrings designed and custom made by Bolder&CO, these were given to me on the morning of our wedding.
Our rings were from Bolder and Co in Richmond London. Ammier had already had the engagement ring designed and made there – no other jeweller wanted to/were able to do an engagement ring with a black diamond and it felt natural to come here also for our wedding bands.
My dad gave me away.
And I walked down the aisle to Johann Pachelbel’s “Canon in D major” played by Victoria Paterson.
Claire Morgan was our wedding photographer. We chose Claire as we love her documentary style, the way she avoids bridal clichés and her ability to capture emotions.
For our wedding flowers I wanted simple and summer-like, no big, artificial looking arrangements, we complimented this look with lots of beautiful candles.
Our wedding favours were chocolates with our graphic wedding theme, they were from the same supplier as the cake, a local Viennese chocolatiere, “Leschanz”.
Our first dance was Lana Del Rey, “Videogames”.
My advice to other brides? Do things your own way, do not let traditions, parents etc., force you to make choices you are not comfortable with – never do anything that does not feel right for YOU. If the bride and groom has different starting points in terms of expectations and wishes, take the time it find solutions that both of you feel comfortable with – this is your day as a couple and it should feel like something you created together.
Oh my, what a strikingly beautiful wedding! One of the chic-est I’ve ever seen. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful day with Want That Wedding and I wish you both a lifetime of happiness. Brides to be, show this gorgeous couple some blog lovin’ and let them know what you’re loving.
