Seashells & Succulents: A Boho Luxe Beach Elopement Shoot!

Boho couple’s planning a beach style wedding will adore these boho luxe seaside ideas in today’s styled wedding inspiration.

Photographer and stylist Catherine Kerr of Eyecapture Photography chose boho chic beachy elements to create a luxe picnic styled shoot with an irresistible colour combination of vibrant Turquoise & statement Gold.

The sea is often so mesmerising, so thought-provoking… as a seaside lover, I can really imagine how great it must be to spend at least some of your wedding day by the beach. Whether it’s just the two of you who head off for a wedding picnic or whether you head down after your vows with your guests to dance on the sand or paddle in the sea.

The idea behind this fashion based beach shoot is to show a sea-loving, independent-minded couple who are thinking of celebrating on the beach or eloping to the seaside how to make it feel stylish, special and unique.

Fashion inspired bridal wear that suits the couple as well as the location was my next love and was delighted to find two outfits that showed Boho Edwardian with and a crochet boho-chic kaftan by Eliza Jane Howell reminiscent of the 1970s.

There’s always room in your life for a bit of luxe! It was champagne all the way with a Fortnum & Mason hamper and hand-dyed silk napkins and ribbons. As the stylist, I indulged in my love of Biba, adding more stylish gold accents for a luxe and a headful of boho chic styling ideas.

April, the HMUA understood exactly what was in my head too creating fishtail braids and a natural soft make-up to complement Sian’s beautiful hair and skin-tone. She also added the beachy inspired headpiece and let Sian’s hair down for the 70s outfit.

It’s not a proper celebration without a bespoke cake either. Gill loves all things flowers and found the amazing Becca who was given the brief that the colours of the flowers should echo the shades of our UK sunrise and sunset.

To incorporate the sea theme, Becca included succulents for the table and even in the bride’s comb! The selected blues were chosen to reflect the shades of sea blues found in UK oceans and the Med.

Pebbles, starfish and shells were always going to be present on a picnic for such a couple, and because they love art and graphic design too, a print with waves and seahorses was also commissioned.

Supporting independent, creative local businesses was a key part of this shoot.
