Imagine an eco-sustainable wedding that still ticks all the style boxes.
Today’s real wedding was an effortless ensemble of reusable and recycled wedding ideas that were brought together beautifully to create this vintage 70s inspired big day.
From eco-friendly glass potted plants as decor, and the bride and groom’s lop-eared rabbit earning his carrots by being best man!

Our best man was a Dutch Lop-ear rabbit. He just wore his usual caramel coloured rabbit fur coat.
The proposal was on the sand at Little Bay Beach (Sydney, NSW, Australia). Our rabbit Mr Kennedy also helped out by holding and handing over the ring, he does like carrots after all!
Eco-sustainability was a priority for us at our wedding. Items for the wedding had to be reusable and where possible be recycled. So for example, we made the wedding arch from recycled oregon. We had wedding plants, not flowers so they can get replanted later. We also had succulents for wedding gifts which doubled as table decorations.
We like vintage things so were inspired by that, the flavour of the wedding day was 1970’s. So, there was a nice 70’s sports car and 70’s music etc.
We hired as little as possible for the wedding. For example, we used our own cars. In days gone by, people would use their own car for their wedding. It’s a great idea.
Julius is a huge James Bond fan, so we had to use as many James bond elements as possible; music, cars, ideas, champagne, honeymoon destinations.
Our wedding cake was a Pavlova. A favorite in Australia and New Zealand. Not sure if it’s popular in the UK. It was made by the Chef and I.
If we could offer any advice to other couples planning their wedding day we would say… Be yourself! Keep everything as real as possible. Keep things traditional and simple.
Isn’t this wedding the absolute sweetest? A bunny rabbit for a best man? Hell yes!
More bunny rabbits this way :))?
