Charming South of France Chateau Wedding with Jenny Packham Bride: Jinny & Damien

An utterly charming French chateau wedding graces the blog today and wow, does it look pretty! Jinny and Damien organised an intimate wedding in the south of France with a dreamy and romantic colour palette of pretty pinks and greys.

Captured by talented wedding photographer French Grey, Jinny looks magical in her delicate and sparkly Jenny Packham gown.

If you dream of an outdoor wedding in a chic and elegant surrounding – this French chateau wedding is the wedding to inspire you.

Our wedding venue was Chateau Charmant in Dordogne, France.

We love the South of France and had been to a friends wedding in a Bordeaux Chateau before, which was one of the best weddings we’ve ever been to. We both love good wine and given our guest numbers were on the smaller side, it allowed us to hand select all of our wines.

We knew that we wanted a venue that we could have the wedding and reception in the one spot so people could relax and then spend the long weekend together with family and friends.

When it came to my wedding dress, I wanted something quite simple that would suit the French charm of the chateau, without being too ‘glammed up’. I always thought I’d like to wear a lace dress but after trying some on, they just didn’t really suit me.

As soon as I tried on the Jenny Packham dresses, I knew that these were exactly what I was after. They are lovely and modern with a little Gatsby style bling! I had a silk bow tied around my waist during the day and then took it off for dancing to reveal a thin diamonte belt (which is part of the dress).

Damien wore a Thomas Pink suit with a tie from Beau Tie UK and a Panerai Watch from Wempe which was a wedding present from me.

The beautiful backdrop of the chateau meant that we really didn’t have to do a lot to style the place. We had the wedding under a beautiful flower canopy out the front of the chateau and then dinner under the stars and lights at the back of the chateau.

I love baby pinks and greys, so everything from our wedding invitations to my flowers and the table decorations matched this romantic style theme.

My Father walked me down the aisle to ‘Fields of Gold’.

We became engaged in Cinque Terre in Italy in 2016 and only decided in March 2017, that we would have a wedding overseas late in the Summer of 2017.

We are from Australia and had been living in London for two years. We organised our wedding in the South of France before we knew we were going to come home. In the end, it turned out to be the best send-off from Europe that we could have asked for!

We wanted an intimate wedding so we could really spend time with family and friends before and after the wedding (especially since everyone had come such a long way!).

Brian of French Grey Photography was our wedding photographer.

We are both keen photographers and Damien had done some wedding photography on the side and I do more interior photography. So needless to say, picking a photographer that suited our taste was hard. At first, we weren’t going to have a photographer, but then Damien showed me Brian’s page and we booked him right away!

Brian’s got a lovely relaxed nature which makes it enjoyable having him around on the day. He works really quickly and captured our day perfectly.

When guests arrived at the Chateau we left them some welcome gifts on their beds. We bought the ends of local wine crates for people to use as cheese boards, Australian soaps and also some macadamia nut biscotti made by my mum.

We also had French macarons in blush and white on the tables at the reception.

We opted for a cake made of wheels of cheese (we were in France after all!). Chez Amis organised this for us.

Our favourite part of the wedding was sitting underneath the stars and the fairy lights during our dinner. It was such a beautiful memory having all our friends together in such a magical setting.

If we could offer any advice, we would say… Don’t sweat the small stuff! As cliche as it sounds, on the day the small things really won’t matter at all! As long as you are there with your significant other, declaring your love for each other then nothing else matters!

Try to get everything done as early as possible. As soon as you get together with family and friends then you won’t have time to do anything (and you should be enjoying time with them anyway!)

Aren’t Chateau weddings are just the dreamiest?! Need even more french wedding inspiration. Do follow the link my lovelies.
