Mythical Blue! Rooftop Views, Santorini Wedding: Sonia & Chris

We married in August 2019 picked the date because it coincided with the peak of one of the brightest meteor showers of the year, the Perseids, and it was exactly two years after we got engaged.

My wedding dress was by Grace Loves Lace… It was light, stretchy and comfortable as well as easy to travel with. Perfect for the warm August weather, and I didn’t have to steam anything!

Our wedding venue was called Mythical Blue and is in Fira, Santorini Greece. Their rooftop terrace had our favourite view overlooking both the town of Fira and the caldera. We also liked that it was high up away from the main path so it felt a little more private. It also was located within walking distance to Fira, and we knew we wanted to be able to walk down with our guests for an afterparty in town rather than having to arrange any cars or transportation.

Our wedding flowers were chosen to match the colour palette. We wanted lots of eucalyptus and olive leaves because we love their look and smell.

Outside of the flowers and wedding decor was, fairy lights and fabrics, we also had candles and Weddings & Whimsy supplied rentals for the welcome sign, photo booth backdrop, ceremony arch and seating lounge area.

We loved working with our wedding photographer Thanasis! He made us feel so comfortable and every photo is stunning!

If we could impart any advice we would say… Keep the big picture in mind – guests won’t notice the little details that didn’t go according to plan. You will almost certainly go over budget so prepare for that! As long as you are surrounded by the people who are most important to you, you are bound to have an amazing wedding.
