Swept up in the air of change, Marybeth and Jason met on their first night of college. Looking back, the couple recognized that, at the time, they didn’t understand the significance of their instant connection. They remained best friends throughout most of their undergrad until they gave dating a chance during their senior year. Marybeth and Jason were engaged on an unusually beautiful October day while on a boat ride through the Boston Harbor.
Many airy energies and bright florals charmed Marybeth and Jason’s New York wedding at their local brewery just outside of Buffalo. Wayland Brewing Company’s light-filled hall provided its divine balance of timeless and modern design.
Marybeth wore a gown by Lee-Ann Belter with spaghetti strap detail, a draped bodice, and a full Mikado skirt. Taking this as an opportunity to show off her accessories, she revealed pearl-embellished Jimmy Choo block heels, which peeked out from the gown’s high slit and beautifully complemented her pearl veil. Jason wore a custom navy suit with a subtle windowpane plaid pattern designed at the speciality menswear store, Bureau. The bride and groom celebrated with heirloom accessories, as Marybeth wore her grandmother’s pearl bracelet, and Jason wore his grandfather’s cufflinks.
A beautiful and minimalist ceremony was held indoors at Wayland Hall. The room was left empty, other than the metal archway affixed with one colourful arrangement of flowers. Greenery danced from the rafters overhead as natural wooden chairs were set out for guests.
After the ceremony, guests were greeted by a light blue escort wall display, set with a bright arrangement of florals at the base. Roses, dahlias, and ranunculus created splashy moments of blush and coral. Scattered with light blue delphiniums, this sky-blue hue was the only accent colour within the aesthetically neutral space.
The couple’s head table was set in front of their wedding arch, with the addition of a neon sign which read, “better together.” A mini wedding cake topped with fresh dahlias sat alongside their delightful dessert table of cannolis, palmiers, and macarons. Marybeth’s final look of the evening was a long-sleeved ivory sequined mini dress with the prettiest final moment of pearlescent colour.
