How to Save Money and Pull off a Chic, Stylish Wedding

There really is no need to blow the budget if you’re planning a stylish soirée. We’ve got some savvy saving tips that mean you can have the day of your dreams, without breaking the bank. From your entertainment to your food, fear not! We’ve got it covered…

Aisle Style

Brides are completely spoilt for choice when it comes to choosing their wedding dress, especially if they want to save money! High street dresses are now here in abundance, and we’re loving styles from ASOS, Phase 8, Monsoon and many more. They have some beautiful bridesmaids’ dresses too that your best girls are bound to love. Why not consider a gorgeous bridal two-piece? Bridal separates are still seriously on trend for 2016, and are a super effective way to keep the costs down while still looking ultra glam.

Photo-booth

Photo booths are not only a fun part of any wedding reception, they create wonderful memories that you can look back on while keeping your guests entertained. However, they can be extremely expensive, with some booths costing over £500! So why not create your very own photo booth using a polaroid camera and a variety of different props such as some vintage frames or quirky hats. If you really want to be a savvy-spender, ask your guests to take the photographs on their phones and upload them to social media using the same hashtag. An Instagram hashtag such as #mikeandemma2016 means that everyone can enjoy the photographs in one place.

Week day Wedding

A rustic barn, a chic city warehouse or a fairytale-worthy castle – there are so many things to consider when choosing your perfect wedding venue. One of the easiest ways to save money when you’re planning your special day is to tie the knot on a week day. This will bring the costs down significantly, meaning you don’t have to scrimp on other areas of your wedding. But be sure to give your guests plenty of notices so they can get the time off work.

DIY Stationery

Although making your wedding stationery will take a lot of time and effort, it will also save you a whole ton of money. Plus, you can make it extra personal. Ask some of your bridesmaids or a creative family member to help out – it’ll make the work load easier and will become an enjoyable task. Alternatively, there are a number of wedding stationery companies who will design your invitations and you can print them out yourself, which is a great balance between the two.

Wedding Cake Wonders

Why not create a chic dessert table with a mixture of cakes, cupcakes and macaroons rather than just one wedding cake? They can double up as dessert and wedding favours, saving you tons of £££s! This will also stop your guests getting hungry later on in the evening, as they can always go back to the table after the dancing!

Wedding Décor

If you’re planning a wedding with a strict budget it’s best to keep your wedding décor simple. This will create a chic, stylish feel to your wedding day whilst being budget friendly. And often, less is more! It’s a great idea to collect items in the lead up to your big day, as that way you can spread the cost over a number of months. Warehouse and urban-inspired décor is seriously hot right now – we’re talking copper, rose gold and geometric style table centrepieces and place names. This alternative idea will definitely impress your guests…

There are lots of ways that you can be thrifty with your wedding budget, and we’ve only picked a handful! Do you have any other ideas on how to plan a stunning wedding without splurging?
