A Boho Glam, Mozambique Beach Wedding With Nautical Vibes: Ash & Brad

Ash & Brad had an incredible Mozambique beach wedding with a boho glam vibe and nautical elements!

Their gorgeous color palette of bronze, navy and maroon is super gorgeous and will leave you feeling so very inspired.

We didn’t really have a theme in mind, I was going for a more glam boho beach vibe with nautical elements but things just came together organically as I collected bits of decor here and there.

I started a few Pinterest boards to draw inspiration from…  okay so I had A LOT of boards ;)

We chose our weddings colours (maroon, navy and bronze) and then, to be honest, things just naturally progressed from there :)

We mainly just wanted to keep things relaxed and personal which I think we achieved :)

I bought my bridesmaids lace dresses from PnP Clothing. They were a nice find, and exactly what I wanted, after searching near and far (Their gowns were also from PnP clothing which I got embroided, with each of their nicknames on the back, in gold).

Brad wore a suit fromMr Pants and all the guys wore Soviet shoes from Kingsmead Shoes. Their ties & leather belts were from Woolworths and Brad’s Fossil watch was from Watch Republic (gift from me).

Skull tie clips were made for each of the groomsmen as a gift from Brad. Our very talented jeweller, Lorean, made these for us.

Jacelyn and her wonderful team from White Lilly Bridal created my beautiful bespoke wedding dress. I went to a few fittings at other bridal stores and couldn’t find something I absolutely loved so I decided to get it made. I wanted something that would fit me nice and snug but that was still comfortable enough to move around and dance in. I had a few pics that I gave to Jace and she designed my dress.

We went through fabrics together and decided on a stretch fabric with a beautiful chiffon overlay. Jace then handstitched all the lace onto the body of the dress and we added a belt around the waist and thin silky straps. My dress took a few months to create, because Jace had to keep altering the dress, as I kept losing weight.

I think my dress was definitely a challenge for Jace but she was so determined to get it perfect and was so patient! It was so lovely working with Jace, and not only did I get an amazing dress out of it, I gained a beautiful friend who is probably just as pedantic as I am :)

My parents were not able to travel so Brad’s dad, Richard, walked me down the aisle (and calmed my nerves)!

We walked down the aisle to my favourite mediation song by Sol Seppy called Enter One. It is such a beautiful song that gets really deep down into your soul!

I couldn’t hear the song walking down the aisle as it was so windy but it all seemed to work out perfectly ;)

Our photographers Knot ust Pics were the best and we are not shy to brag about that! They captured our wedding so perfectly, yet so naturally, and with such skill and talent. They really exceeded our expectations!

We brought all the decor from South Africa – table cloths, runners, candle holders, candles, animal jars with sweets, bottles that we spraypainted bronze, little glass vases, frames, favours … everything came from home.

For wedding favours we did Jagermeister shorts in a small enamel cup – we attached a little note that said “Shot for coming”.

WE LOVE CHEESE, especially me (Ash)!!!

Maria is such a genuine, lovely lady who helped us put together a DIY cheesecake which was served as our wedding cake. We had a layer of blue rock, a combo layer of fig and cranberry rock, a layer of camembert and a small red heart which was cheddar.

We paired the cheeses with different preserves and served them with matching red and wine wines along with delicious snack platters… It was just devine!

The whole day was amazing, despite a few hiccups, everything turned out perfectly and we had such a great time with family and friends! It is by far one of the best times we’ve had in our lives.

My favourite moment was seeing Brad’s face as I walked down the aisle and when he took my hands in his. I felt like the luckiest girl in the world.

When I asked Brad what his favourite moment was, he just says “you”? ;) But it was also very special for us that Brad’s best man, Mike, officiated our commitment ceremony. His words were so honest, true and from the heart and his part in our special day cannot go unmentioned.

Our advice to other brides and grooms planning their weddingwould be…

PLAN AHEAD! Get all the important stuff organised first, like venue, photographers, videographers, caterer, accommodation and your dress! You never know, you may need time to make another plan.

For us our photographer fell pregnant so we had to find another photographer and this resulted in us having to change our wedding dates (so we could secure the photographers we wanted) which in turn affected plans for friends coming from overseas. You never know what might happen so just be prepared!

Start all your DIY projects as soon as possible, do not leave it to the last minute like we did ;) Even though we had a lot of fun with friends getting all these projects done in the last few days before our wedding, it does take a bit of stress off you if you get it done earlier.

Also, whatever your budget is – be aware that there is a very good chance you will blow it and that’s ok, it’s worth every penny in the end ;) But it is also important to be realistic and your wedding doesn’t have to cost a fortune to be memorable!

Thanks to Knot Just Pics for sharing this stunning wedding and congratulations Brash ;) XxX
