Good afternoon loverlies! On the blog today is an eye wateringly pretty preview of Jenny Packham’s 2015 bridal collection – as seen on the catwalk of New York’s, Bridal Fashion Week!
What is particularly exciting to me about this eclectic mix of wedding gowns is the use of plus size models in the catwalk show! I mean, I’m sure this has happened before right but to see a wedding dress designer who’s held in such high regard as Jenny Packham showing us how lovely her creations look on curvier girls… is just AMAZE!
Jenny Packham dresses go up to a size 18 and all the way down to a 6 for any petite-ly packaged lady too. The tough part is gonna be deciding which JP gown is the one for you!
The collection, available in store from end of July, was inspired by the photographs of 1930’s British society photographer, Madame Yevonde, specifically a series of portraits of society ladies dressed in classical costumes, known as ‘The Goddesses’.
Staged in an industrial venue against a blue sky backdrop, the catwalk show opened with a plus size model. Buttermilks, champagnes and warm blush caramel tones in sumptuous silk chiffon and ethereal tulle complimented traditional classic ivory.
Celestial capes, whimsical tiered hemlines and exquisite veils added a romantic, mythical affection to the collection whilst delicate French lace was adorned with signature beading and twinkling crystals in an array of molten golds, antique metallic silvers and rich alabasters.
Yevonde’s stylised images of mythological heroines – Helen of Troy, Persephone, Venus – captured an ancient world of antiquity, within a modern and hauntingly beautiful treatment.
The colours used; soft, tonal, always romantic, and the feminine way she played with light and colour to create a hazy, neoclassical ambiance, directly influenced the design and palette of this season’s collection.
I am so looking forward to see you gorgeous brides in these beautiful creations saying your ‘I do’s’.
And as I mentioned at the top of the post it’s great to see a designer as renowned as Jenny Packham using plus sized models in her catwalk show! After all, most of us are just ‘normal’ aren’t we .
Do you love this collection? How do you feel about sizing in the wedding industry? Would love to hear your thoughts.

Absolutely gorgeous dresses!! Jenny Packham can do no wrong!!
Totally agree Cathryn :))
Wow love these dresses. Its good to see dresses coming down the catwalk that all aren’t a size 8 – 10.
It sure is, after all most women aren’t a size 8 – 10 so it’s great that curvy ladies are being represented xXx
