Morning lovelies! I’m welcoming a brand new sponsor onto the want that wedding blog this morning and I just have to tell you, I’m blown away by this mans talent. What comes across to me about Chris Giles Wedding Photography is… he really, really captures the spirit of the day! I mean just check out his gorgeous work below!!
I never wanted to be a wedding photographer, I loved photography but could never see the attraction of being one. Then a friend had been let down by theirs, I jumped in to help and it all changed from there.
You see, surround yourself with nice people and it rubs off on you. Weddings are good for the soul and are the best place to find people in good spirits!
What I’ve found is that my strengths are the soulful image, ones with artistry and life. I don’t think it’s right to call myself a photographer. Rather, an artist who paints with light.
The relaxed look is something I have a knack of bringing out in people. I tend to listen to what people say about their wedding photographers….what they didn’t like and I try to do the exact opposite in my work. I always try to make each wedding I shoot as unique as the bride and groom.
As a person, frankly, I’m a bit of a loon. This helps. Standing in front of 60 guys on a field ready to shout charge whilst they run towards you requires a level of insanity. Handling grumpy Dad’s and cuddling Nan’s is all part of a day’s work for me. You have to be an artist, a psychologist, a logistical genius and physically fit to run around for 10 hours on a Saturday.
I wouldn’t say I cover any particular style of wedding. I do all types, Vintage, Traditional, Contemporary etc. The only thing that stays the same is the way I shoot!
