Morning lovelies! I’ve another beautiful real wedding to share with you on the Want That Wedding blog today, a wedding that I hope, makes you feel all warm and gooey inside! From the beautiful rainbow bouquet to the intricate detailing on the gorgeous lace veil, I know you’re going to fall in love. Oh, and there’s the small matter of the uh-may-zing photography by talented wedding photographer Debs Ivelja. Annika and Edward married in their home town of Brisbane, Australia and it looks like it was the perfect day! Let’s hear more from our lovely bride Annika…

I wore 2 pairs of shoes on my wedding day, 1 silver satin with diamante detail for the ceremony and red sequined ‘party’ shoes for the reception.
The flowers were one of my favourite things on our wedding day! I love flowers and have so many favourite types that I found it impossible to narrow down my choices. Kate did a gorgeous job of creating my ‘rainbow’ bouquet, which also featured traditional greenery used in Latvian and Estonian wedding bouquets (my Dad’s family are Estonian and Mum’s are Latvian). The flower girls especially loved their flower pomanders. My sisters wore wrist corsages leaving their hands free to help the flower girls (their daughters) down the aisle. Kate presents her creations on the day in the most thoughtful and gorgeous way. Each bouquet, corsage or buttonhole is wrapped beautifully and she includes little extras like a hand towel to keep the brides bouquet from dripping on her dress.
Leonard made my older sisters wedding gown back in 2006 and I knew from then that I would really love to have him make mine also. I loved my wedding gown right from the first fitting. Leonard does such a beautiful job I could have worn just the lining of my dress and still felt amazing. I loved that my gown was custom made and fit perfectly.
Leonard has a real talent for flattering the female form. He makes some amazing dresses and I have never seen a picture of a bride wearing one of his creations that didn’t look amazing. I received so many lovely comments on my veil too, which was trimmed with the same lace the featured on my dress.
Our ceremony was at The ”Botanical” at Mt Coot-tha Botanic Gardens, Brisbane, Australia.
One of the most memorable parts of the day was arriving at the ceremony and seeing all our friends and family gathered together and waiting to walk down the aisle, knowing my husband was there waiting.
Our wedding photographer was the wonderful Debs Ivelja. We couldn’t have been happier with our wedding photos. We wanted candid photos that really captured the spirit of our day and Debs delivered this so, so well!
My two older sisters were my bridesmaids and wore navy and black beaded dresses. My middle sister, Inge, was 8 months pregnant with her 2nd baby on our wedding day, she looked gorgeous in this dress (actually you could barely tell she was expecting!).
If we could impart any words of wisdom to future brides? Remember the day is about you, and your husband and the commitment you are making to each other (as well as celebrating together with family and friends). Just remember to relax and it enjoy it, nobody will know if anything goes wrong or not perfectly to plan.
After watching my two older sisters get married and stress and get angry about little things on the day I was determined to not let anything bother me, and it didn’t. I had a perfect day.
We really wanted our reception venue to have a beautiful view. We both had family visiting for the wedding from overseas, so the Summit was a perfect venue to show off Brisbane to our guests from out of town. We chose to have a cocktail style reception to allow our guests the freedom to be able to move around and enjoy the view.
”Somewhere over the rainbow” the Israel Kamakawiwo’ole version was our first dance song. I have always loved the movie the Wizard of Oz! But both of us actually like this version of the song. We had dance lessons to make sure we were comfortable on the dance floor. The song was also the inspiration for my red sequinned party shoes.
Oh wow! What a beautiful , beautiful wedding and Debs Ivelja photography just leaves me breathless! Congratulations to Annika and Edward, please leave them a little lovin’ on the blog.
