Creative Rustic Handmade: Red & Blue | Real Wedding

OMG ladies. I could just gush and gush and gush about how beautiful and in love with this wedding I am. The bride is totally rocking it and literally made everything for her wedding day to sweetheart Allan. They also have the cutest love story ever and married in Crane’s Lochaven Wilderness Lodge, where they met when only 12 years old! I’ll hand you over now to the beautiful Megan who tells all about their very special wedding day.

I’m from British Columbia, and Allan is from Pennsylvania. We met when we were 12 years old at Crane’s Lochaven Wilderness Lodge in the French River. Our families continued to go to the lodge throughout our adolescence and that’s when we started our courtship.

Our wedding also took place at the lodge where we first met, it’s a remote fishing lodge on an island in the French River in Northern Ontario. All 75 of our guests were shuttled in by boat, and stayed the weekend in huts on the island. The weekend was freezing, raining, and almost snowing, the locals and lodge workers were wearing snow suits for the boat ride!

I made my headpiece for $5, the bracelet was a vintage pick for $8 and my earrings were borrowed from my Maid of Honour.

All the adorable details were made by myself or friends and family. Even supper was cooked by Allan’s Mum!

My Maid of Honour created the photobooth, and yes, that is real moss and tree stumps.

Oh wow Megan and Allan. I LOVE YOUR WEDDING!! It’s so heartfelt and was such a community effort. In particular I love the splash of red from your shoes, lipstick, nails and Allan’s tie. I adore the hanging umbrellas and ambient lighting! I’m so, so jealous of your sweetheart table too (I wish I had done that!) and your handmade wedding favours and cheeky message were super cute. I love how your wedding photographer captured loads of beautiful moments from your wedding day, you must be chuffed to bits.

What do you think of this real rustic, handmade and creative wedding ladies? I would love to hear your favourite bits, please do share in the comments section below.
