The concept of this shoot emerged phoenix-like from a previous shoot-disaster that Charlotte and I had the misfortune to have been involved in – a throwaway remark that we could have taken better images ourselves in a garden with an iPhone led me to thinking…
Ok, so the reality was that it was Charlotte and I in a garden…but the garden happened to be the magnificent plot at Blooming Green and there was a team of talented contributors making this ultra-Bohemian-with-a-touch-
‘Bohoriental’, as it became known, grew into a magnificent indulgence of colour, pattern and texture. I used organically-grown blooms, hand-picked from the plot to create the bouquets and the table centre.
Katie and Jacqueline provided us with the incredible ribboned backdrop and the exquisite bespoke stationery that all perfectly captured the vibe of the theme.
The idea of the iPhone images did stay with us – I knew Dale to be a dedicated Instagrammer so the perfect man for the job! We were thrilled when Sonia agreed to stream the images live on her account and now we’re even more delighted to bring you the full shoot in all its high res glory.
Charlotte’s gorgeous gowns shimmered and floated in the heat of the Summer sun and were complemented beautifully by Fumbalinas striking headpieces and Marsha’s fabulous shoes. Lisa our make-up artist, had her work cut out with the intense heat, her outstanding airbrushed make-up however, was more than a match for it.
In addition to the heat, we were beset with high winds – they sought to tangle the tresses that Lisa so artfully created and made our amazing tasselled balloons from Eagle Eyed Bride take on a life of their own!
In my book, a shoot isn’t a shoot unless there is cake involved – and Renza outdid herself with these wonderful sweet treats – nothing better than cake to end a wonderful day of creativity and laughter.
Massive thanks to the whole team for sharing with the WTW blog. Are you planning a bohemian style wedding? What do you think of this boho /oriental twist? I love it :))
