Happy Thursday lovelies! How’s your week shaping up so far? I’m having a great week thank you very much, despite the yucky London weather and annoying tube strikes. Rather random, but want to know something I learnt this week? Uh-huh.  I cannot drink wine and get up at 6am… I can drink wine and get up at 8am, but no, not 6am. So I’m feeling slightly rough today after quaffing one vino too many last night… Luckily this wedding shoot with its bold and zesty colour palette is sorting me right out!

If you’re planning a non-traditional wedding, I have a feeling this quirky, alternative, english country house styled wedding inspiration will be like a beacon to you. I love the alternative wedding dress and the lime, nectarine and purple, it really stands out. Oh, and did I mention the cake inspiration is to die for! Lots of rusticy gorgeousness with persimmons and pears. So, without further ado, I shall pass you over to the lovely Gwenda from Fearless Florals.

I love to work with the awesome photographer, Kat Forsyth – she totally understands my vision to unite the beauty of the traditional with the outright unconventional! Along the way, I have met many other like-minded wedding industry professionals and I was fortunate enough to bring some of them together on this styled shoot.

The venue, the gem that is Bradbourne house, is local to me and I have been keen to find the perfect concept for it for a while now. Sharon Page, the Event Manager, generously allowed us to shoot our alternative take on a classic Country House wedding.

Red, violet, lime and nectarine were chosen for our palette. I used colourful roses, carnations, gladioli and alstroemeria to create two quite different bouquet styles, one a simple domed posy, the other a stat. Feathers were an integral park of the styling throughout the shoot, including the stunning stationery created by Kate (complete with a line drawn image of the facade of the venue) and the exceptional cakes and sweet treats by Renza and the mouth-watering fudge by Sioban.

Gemma and James respectively created exquisite bridal make-up looks and hair styles for the beautiful Lara. Completing this transformation, Karen made us a dress, two hair accessories and veil specially for the shoot, to which Marsha’s shoes added the finishing touch. Liam’s unusual purple tweed suit was kindly loaned to us by Cad & the Dandy – navy, grey or black just wouldn’t do!
