Good morning lovers! I’ve always been a hopeless romantic at heart and growing up, Valentine’s Day meant the world to me. The anticipation, the excitement… My day could be made, simply by the sound of cards hitting the mat next to the front door. It could also be broken too by not even a little sniff of romance in the air… and I swear, I spent one valentine’s day a few years before I met Chris sobbing my heart out watching The Notebook!
So it probably comes as no great surprise that I have very mixed emotions about Valentine’s Day. A part of me longs for the grand gestures and romanticism attached to the day and yet the other part of me hates how this one day can make you feel great or make you feel low. And don’t even get me started on the rampant consumerism… eugh!
Perhaps as an engaged lady you feel even more pressure to lap this day up and show the world that you’re in love and are loved!? If you’re a hopeless romantic like me, being engaged and it being Valentine’s Day is probably a once in a lifetime opportunity to revel in all the glory…
Deep down though, we all know that romance is in the little things, the thoughtful actions carried out on a daily basis. So if you are a valentine’s lover, I hope your day is awash with love and romantic gestures, and if you’re not a fan… well, that’s ok too .
So today’s post is linked to valentine’s day, but just like love, it doesn’t need to be shown on this day only. Secrets Of The Heart is a fun and romantic design concept dreamt up by the fab ladies from Knot & Pop and lovingly created by Sugared Saffron… read on :))
Secrets Of The Heart is a wedding cake with hidden secret messages placed within the deliciously spongy centre.
With secrets written about you the couple, from where you shared your first kiss, to where you fell in love, to favourite parts of each others bodies or perhaps embarrassing / mushy nick-names…
The Secrets Of The Heart cake will share with your guests some never-before-known things about you as a couple – however sweet, silly or saucy you want to be.
Knot & Pop collaborated with cake designer Sugared Saffron, calligrapher Berin Made and wedding photographer Dasha Caffrey, working with the perfectly precise and talented paper practitioner Sarah Louise Matthews to create the paper heart decorations.
