Happy Friday my lovelies! The rustic yellow wedding inspiration gracing todays blog post is effortlessly gorgeous. Its sunny yellow disposition is a really uplifting wedding colour option and is definitely cheering up the blog . If you’ve ever wondered how a summer themed, garden party wedding might look, I’m sure you’ll find enough rustic pretty ideas in this post and it shouldn’t be too long before you’re dreaming of your own sunny wedding soiree!
What I love about this shoot in particular, is the unique marquee setting with wooden tables and pretty rustic place settings. One of my all time favourite wedding styling ideas, pretty bottles are used as a very simple and effective yet incredibly pretty table centrepiece. Loving the zesty accompaniment of lemons and wild flowers… Oh, and wait until you see the wedding cake and stationery too! So creative.
Thanks to Erica from Mr & Mrs Unique for submitting this wedding pretty to the WTW blog. I will now pass you over so she can let you know all about the inspiration and wonderful wedding suppliers that made this styled shoot happen.
I run a wedding directory Mr & Mrs Unique that focuses on unique, eclectic and creative wedding suppliers. Throughout the year I try to get together with a selection of listed suppliers to create photo shoots, as it gives us the opportunity to experiment and spread our creative wings.
A new venue called Lodge Farm BnB recently joined our directory and an opportunity arose to get Hertfordshire based Mr & Mrs Unique suppliers together for a photo shoot.
Lodge Farm has just started to take on more weddings and its location is stunning, set in the idyllic Hertfordshire countryside of Lilley Bottom, Kings Walden. The BnB sleeps up to 12 and the garden that would be used for the wedding party has endless views of fields with a gorgeous side garden, which can also be used for blessings.
I wanted to create a shoot that embraced the grounds and how pretty they are, so we aimed to create a summer garden party feel. I was also inspired by a cake I spotted at Tie The Knot – The Unique & Eclectic Wedding Carnival which I help co-organise twice a year alongside Binky Nixon, our photographer for the shoot.
The cake was designed by Natasha from Nevie-Pie Cakes and was based on songs lyrics ‘Shower the people you love with love’. It also gave us the yellow theme running throughout the styling. Natasha popped along on the day and added some decorative cookies to match the cake… they included yellow rainbows, suns, grey clouds… they honestly looked to good to eat (which we obviously we did when the shoot finished!).
I really didn’t want to use a bog standard white marquee so I contacted one of our marquee suppliers Funky Monkey Tents, as they have a wide range of beautiful hand made structures, tables and benches. They brought along their new stretch marquee (a favorite of mine,) that can be manipulated into different shapes. I think something like high wind gazebos would be a great idea too.
Chloe from White Button Weddings was the lady behind the table styling, the lemonade stand, photo booth and kids corner. The table setting included lots of vintage glass bottles, lemons, checked linen and hessian.
The models for the shoot were recently married couple Becky, (a burlesque dancer called Aurora Blu) and her husband Edd. I was really keen to use a real couple in the shoot, as I wanted the photos to look believable.
I was thrilled to have Binky from Binky Nixon Photography on board for the photo shoot, as she is so good at what she does. She is really passionate about her job and captures special moments with a natural artistic style.
The stationery was provided by Style and Joy– I love their modern, fresh invitations and menu’s. The beautiful yellow bouquet, vase display and buttonhole was created by The Basement Florist which featured large poppy heads, daisies and sunflowers.
It was a really fun, relaxed day… shoots can sometimes be really stressful but spending a sunny day at Lodge Farm seemed more play than work!
Thank you so much Erica for sharing your gorgeous work with us, what a great team of wedding suppliers and I’m sure that WTW readers will be feeling super inspired to style their rustic chic days.
Love this shoot? Why not leave some lovin’ for the fabulous team.
