Today’s real wedding is sooooo pretty! Perhaps I’m a fan as I really really love the natural rustic styling and the gorgeous purples tones.
Purple is definitely one of my favourite colours too, and looks incredibly pretty and striking in this gorgeous South African rustic wedding.
Our gorgeous bride and groom – Jaco & Tammy, married at The Nutcracker in Parys and these incredible images were captured by Ginger Ale Photography.
Words by Tammy.
We chose The Nutcracker in Parys, South Africa as our wedding venue because its rustic feel to and its awesome nature element.
When I first saw my wedding dress on, I wanted it instantly. I absolutely loved it! I loved the heart shaped boob tube with the see through straps and the detail was not too much, but still very beautiful.
We both love the rustic look and are very easy-going, so we wanted a wedding that represented our styles.
Purple has always been my favourite colour and that’s why there’s a dash of purple in the wedding. We chose this particular venue because of the nature element and it’s prerty rustic look.
Our wedding favours were hessian bags (we made ourselves) with coffee beans (for the men) or earrings (for the women) made out of wooden hearts or round buttons made in different materials.
We also gave goodbye packs to our guests – brown paper bags with chips, sweets, biltong and cooldrink in. We made these ourselves as well.
We decorated the chapel with hanging Consol Jars and flowers, and hearts brought from our home.
We made over 80 cushions and over 15 blankets for our picnic entrée.
The most memorable moment from our wedding was when we said ‘I do’.
Jaco and I met in 2009 at his work where I was working as a temp. He loves sports and one day as I was playing and messing around with a rugby ball, I immediately caught his eye! That’s how our story began.
The proposal – we had a Christmas dinner at our home with a beautifully set table. After dinner Jaco went down on one knee and asked me to marry him, and I said yes!
Our wedding photographers were Ginger Ale Photography – their work is unbelievably amazing! They knew exactly what we wanted, every little detail! They definitely understand and read their clients perfectly.
Our first dance was to “Somebody to You” by The Vamps ft Demi Lavato. We chose this because my husband recommended it and we both loved it immediately – we always wanted something different.
If we could impart any words of wisdom? Try to stay calm and make it a weekend wedding – it helps a lot with all the nerves.
Isn’t this wedding so, soooo gorgeous?!!? Such a pretty colour combination of the lilacs, purples, charcoals and greys. And what a wedding venue!
Massive congrats to Jaco and Tammy. Thank you so much for sharing your big day with the WTW blog and how amazing are these images people? Thanks to Ginger Ale Photography for sharing them with us.
Don’t forget to leave our happy couple some love…
