Relaxed Pretty Pastel Wedding With Claire Pettibone Gown: Mary & David
Today’s real wedding is a super pretty affair – full of pastel pinks and peaches and a stunning Claire Pettibone lace wedding gown with statement floral embellishment. The bride is also wearing a really unusual and incredibly beautiful Jenny Packham headpiece. I’m in love!
Mary and David had a sweet, relaxed wedding with lots of fun, dancing, ice-cream, and of course, a whole heap of LOVE!

I chose my Claire Pettibone gown as it had a beautiful vintage lace look. I was searching for something not too fussy which would look pretty and feel comfortable. Clare Bridal Studio in Suffolk were great to deal with – they had a beautiful array of wedding dresses and gave a really personal service.
Our wedding venue was Butley Priory, Nr Woodbridge, Suffolk. It was a stunning location, beautifully atmospheric, and felt totally unique. We knew it was the perfect location instantly! The venue came with an events organiser, she was fundamental and ensured the day ran effortlessly.
My wedding shoes were by Rachel Simpson and my beautiful headpiece was by Jenny Packham.
My bridesmaids wore their own shoes and pastel pink dresses from Coast. I gave the girls their necklaces on the morning of the wedding. I purchased them from Lilac Rose in Cambridge.
When it came to the styling of our wedding, we went for a relaxed vibe. To decorate the venue we used lots of pretty jam jars, wild flowers and photo-frames of our parents and grandparents weddings.
Fleur De Lys in Bury St Edmunds made the wedding bouquets – I wanted soft pretty bouquets in pastel shades.
My Dad walked me down the aisle to Pachelbel Canon in D.
Marie Wootton was our wedding photographer. She captured the day exactly as we remember it – absolutely perfect, full of happiness and laughter!
Our entire cake table was donated by our guests! My brother kindly made the naked sponge cake. Yum!
We chose not to have a first dance – we danced to every song with all our friends and family.
What was your most memorable moment of the day?
Seeing my grandpa at a silent disco!
If you could impart any words of wisdom to future brides planning their wedding, what would they be?
Relax. Whatever happens it will be the best day of your life and don’t forget comfortable dancing shoes!
