Finding the perfect shade of nude lipstick for your wedding day can be very tricky and time consuming. As bridal make-up artists we know how difficult this is and have to often mix different colours and textures to make the most flattering lipstick colours for our brides.
Once the photos have been taken and we leave we need to be sure that our clients have the perfect lipsticks to top up with! We decided to hit the shops and check out whats on offer from high street to high end brands so you don’t have to!
We have used Andrea as our lip model, she has a fair to medium complexion. Don’t worry if this isn’t yours, our next post will be covering medium to dark skin tones.
1. MAC – LUSTRE – FRESH BREW
WHAT IT IS: A nude-coffee lipstick
HOW IT LOOKS / FEELS: It has a latte appearance with a great blend of beige and brown. It goes on smoothly and feels quite moisturizing. It is a sexy flattering muted nude which would look great with a smokey eye.
2. SLEEK – TRUE COLOUR LIPSTICK SHEEN – BARELY THERE
WHAT IT IS: A nude peach lipstick
HOW IT LOOKS / FEELS – A beautiful mix of beige and peach which will enhance natural lip colour. It has a creamy texture, great pigmentation and even smells and tastes good.
3. REVLON – COLOURSTAY MOISTURE STAIN – LONDON POSH
WHAT IT IS: A gel hydrating lip stain in a nude pinky colour
HOW IT LOOKS / FEELS: A sophisticated glossy nude rose colour. Goes on a little gloopy at first but once worked into lips has a gorgeous long lasting shiny finish. Loses glossiness after extended wear but leaves a pretty colour which doesn’t bleed nor fade.
4. CHANEL – IN TIME 93
WHAT IT IS : A light pink lipstick
HOW IT LOOKS / FEELS – It has a soft pink appearance which is slightly lighter than most natural lip bases. The texture is supposed to offer a ‘soft shine’ but we found it quite matte and only lightly moisturizing. It is highly pigmented and long-lasting lipstick with gorgeous packaging.
5. TOM FORD – LIP COLOUR – NUDE VANILLE
WHAT IT IS: A pale cream peach nude
HOW IT LOOKS / FEELS – A Great formula which makes lips look lush, not washed out, thanks to the warm pink peach undertones. Glides on so smoothly and feels very moisturizing on the lips. This lipstick looks flattering and even for hours! Would look amazing on all fair-light skin.
