Emma & Errol married at the rather awesome Rockley Manor in Wiltshire – it’s where the Great British Bake Off has been filmed, and it’s just an immensely pretty wedding venue.
To top it off, they had an outdoor ceremony with a muted woodland flower, rustic wedding ‘theme’ and a spectacular bake-off style wedding cake!

We chose Rockley Manor, nr Marlborough in Wiltshire. Marlborough is where I grew up and where my family still live. Errol is an Essex boy, and still feels like he’s on holiday when he visits the countryside!
My wedding dress was by Stella York, purchased from an independent shop in London where we both live and work. I chose this dress as it had a classic style.
My shoes were a bit fun, muted pink to match the roses, custom made, and embellished with stones and ‘I DO’ written in blue crystals on the base.
Our wedding flowers where arranged by Floral Circus – the flowers were muted woodland wild flowers.
Errol wore a royal navy three piece suit, and the groom’s party were all in grey.
We wanted a relaxed relaxed wedding day, with a pretty, natural, rustic, setting. For example, the flowers were muted woodland wild flowers and my dress was fairly vintage.
As we got engaged in Italy there were also a few Italian twists, we served Aperol Spritz and Prosecco as the reception drinks. Also, in a nod to Errol’s Turkish Cypriot roots, the Canapes had a Turkish twist.
Our wedding cake was very personal, made especially for us by a friend (bridesmaid’s sister). She has made several show stoppers in the past, and this was no exception.
As Rockley Manor has hosted the British Bake Off in the past, we wanted a ‘bake off’ style cake, but in keeping with the colours of the flowers.
There were 4 tiers (Victoria Sponge, Lemon cake, and two carrot cakes), decorated with real wild flowers, candied rose leaves, and hand made sugar roses. She also hand made macaroons in Elderflower, Lavender, and Rose flavour.
Most importantly, our cat Pepper made an appearance, made out of sugar :)
My brother Matt gave me away.
Errol and I met through work (not same company, but we used to deal with each other) and we have been together for 8 years. Errol proposed while on holiday in Frascati, Italy, in April 2014.
Our bridesmaid Polly did all the beautiful artwork for us on the table plan and table names. She painted a few sweet peas and a white rose. They were simply beautiful. Polly is an extremely talented botanical artist.
Our wedding photographer Kevin was recommended to us by our wedding organiser at the venue. We found Kevin & Carol extremely friendly, laid-back, yet professional.
They expertly captured some amazing natural images, Kevin and Carol were virtually invisible, yet they captured the vibe of the day perfectly. The photos (there were lots of them!) were truly unique, and looking at them afterwards was like reliving the day.
Kevin and Carol have a real talent for capturing candid moments, and this is exactly what we wanted from our wedding photography – images that documented the day. We are SO happy with the overall experience and outcome.
A friend of mine from school, Elizabeth, sang a special song for us. She has just launched her first album, but this song was a recreation of Ellie Goulding ‘how long will I love you’. It made pretty much the whole room cry!
We had a String Trio play for our ceremony and then a Jazz Band in the evening.
If you could impart any words of wisdom to a future bride planning their wedding day, what would they be?
Get a wedding planner! Not really sure as every wedding is very personal and different, but I would say make sure you take 5 minutes to yourselves as new husband and wife to appreciate the day that you have spent so long planning – it goes by in the blink of an eye.
What was your most memorable moment of the day?
The whole day was perfect.
Another lovely wedding from Kevin Belson Wedding Photography, who else fancies getting married where the Great British Bake Off took place?
Congratulations to Errol & Emma, thanks for sharing your pretty wedding day.
