An Elegant Wedding Inspired by Minimalist, On-trend Decor & Greenery: Natalie & Paul

Natalie & Paul’s elegant South African wedding was inspired by the on-trend minimalist decor that’s been sweeping through pinterest and the wedding world of late.

An absolutely gorgeous concoction of paired down pretty and elegant details – think organic florals and greenery, long wooden rustic tables, hanging edison bulbs and subtle geometric detail.

Natalie was a pure vision in her pretty Sadira dress, petal hair garland and beige leather pointed pumps and I love the subtle nude colour of the custom made skirts chosen for her bridesmaids. Understated gorgeousness alert my lovelies – you’ll just adore this one!

Corrie Lynn our wedding venue in South Africa is an operating farm with beautiful Nguni cattle and 360° views of the surrounding hills and pastures. Both inside and outside the barn offers so many opportunities for unique and captivating shots, so much charm and detail in a single take.

It was the only venue that sparked me with energy and excitement. Tinks the venue owner had a warm welcoming relaxed approach, she was quite open and flexible.

Paul proposed to me in the most magical garden at Babylonstoren Cape Town.

My Dad walked me down the aisle to ‘Yellow’ by Cold Play (guitar instrumental).

Our wedding photographers, Szerdi and Andrew of Knot Just Pics were a great team and couple, their shots capture the rawness of a moment, catching so many special moments one often misses, their timing is on form.

KJP made us feel comfortable and as requested kept the wedding days shoot time to a minimum. Paul and I are out of this world happy!!!…with the pics we got back (and in less than a month after)!! We cannot thank them enough for capturing with such magic and energy, and for giving us these beautiful memories forever.

Our style was inspired by minimalist, elegant and on trend decor and greenery, contrasting beautifully with the charm of a wooden beamed barn.

One of most memorable moments was arriving from the photo shoot to a delish snack platter prepared by Ros for just Paul and I and a barn full of happy family and friends having fun… oh and later on Paul and I spying on the crowd from outside the barn watching everyone enjoy the party.

My advice to future brides planning their wedding days would be… Get as much done as early as possible so you can relax and spend special time with everyone in the week and days before. Spend on food, it is always worth it!

Our first dance as man and wife was to ‘So this is Love’ by Ilene Woods & Mike Douglas (Walt Disney’s Cinderella animation) … our dreams came true.
