Real Wedding

Elegant & Classic Navy, Pink & White Wedding: Alison & Jason

If you love your weddings classic, elegant and pretty – then you will adore today’s real wedding. It’s full of gigantic balloons, watercolour wedding stationery and cute colour coordinated detail.

Jason & Alison’s ‘how they met story’ is so lovely to read and Alison looks gorgeous in her elegant Stewart Parvin Wedding gown.

I love the simplicity of my Stewart Parvin wedding dress and the lovely lace detailing. It was perfect for our church ceremony but was also really easy to dance in as well.

I saw Sally Murray’s  (my florist) work at a wedding fayre and loved her style. She understood the look and feel we were going for and the colour scheme. My bouquet was a beautiful hand tie of orchids and pale pink and white roses which complemented my wedding dress perfectly.

Jason’s button hole was a simple orchid head. The flowers in the church and in a Fanhams Hall were kept to pinks, whites and neutrals for a classic feel.

Our colour scheme was pale pink, white and navy – I really wanted to keep things classic. This is also reflected with the venue we picked. Fanhams Hall is amazing. The rooms are elegant and beautiful with traditional features.

My Father walked me down the aisle to Canon in D Major by Johann Pachelbel. Classic and absolutely loved it.

Jason and I met by chance. I went to Jason’s restaurant in Old Harlow with a group of friends for a birthday meal back in December 2011 even though I did not live locally. I didn’t know but Jason had managed to get my number but felt it was awkward so did not contact me.

In May 2012, I was back at the restaurant with a few of my friends. This time, Jason had found out where I worked and a few days later, sent flowers with a pay as you go mobile phone with a text message asking me out. The rest is history.

I stumbled across our wedding photographer Anneli’s work on Instagram and absolutely loved it. After meeting her person, we knew she was perfect – she was lovely to work with. Her photos look natural and she really captured the atmosphere of our wedding day.

Sally Murray also helped to style the Great Hall and flowers. We chose watercolour calligraphy for our table names and had ganache macarons which complemented our colour scheme but were also used as place names.

Our beautiful Bronte wedding cake was made by Abigail Bloom. It was decorated with orchids by Sally. We chose orange and almond sponge with orange buttercream and orange curd. So delicious. My sister bought our cake topper which was beautiful.

My advice to other brides and grooms planning their weddings would be to focus on getting your venue right first and everything else will fit into place. Dont over complicate things.

Our first dance which also involved the best men and ushers was to ‘Happy’ by Pharrell. Jason and I have two left feet but this was our opportunity to learn and share our dance with everyone. It was so much fun.

Such a classically pretty wedding – love the navy, pink and white combo.
