This breathtakingly pretty wedding will have your heart all aflutter with its gorgeous colour scheme of blush pink and soft grey!
Newlyweds Sam & Jennifer had a beautiful church ceremony followed by a romantic wedding breakfast at Dodford Manor. Jennifer wowed with her elegant princess style wedding dress and effortless style, and the bridesmaid dresses are pretty special too!

I had actually already found and ordered a dress from serendipity brides but I began to have second thoughts. There are just so many beautiful dresses to choose from. When I went to try it on again it didn’t feel like me. Lisa was so helpful and understanding and the dress I finally chose was her pick of the month. It was totally against everything I wanted ie big and princess like but once I tried it on I didn’t want to take it off and the back sold it for me.
My bridesmaids didn’t wear too many accessories as we felt the beautiful ASOS dresses spoke for themselves. I bought a bunch of Gypsophila to decorate both mine and the bridesmaid’s hair for a simple but pretty look and they wore gifts from us on the day – bracelets and necklaces both from Azendi.
Sam’s suit was from Fogarty and the ushers and best man wore personalised initial cuff links from John Lewis as gifts from Sam and I.
My favourite part of the day was the ceremony in the church. I loved every minute of it. But also the car journey from the hotel to the church with my dad was very exciting; we were both so nervous and excited.
I had always dreamed of a church wedding so that was a big deciding factor whatever venue we chose. We found Dodford Manor through lots of searching and research from both the internet and friends/family. It was the views and flowing countryside that first attracted us to Dodford but from the moment we visited we fell in love with the amazingly friendly staff and the building itself.
San and Michael our wedding photographers were recommended to us from a family member and I can’t thank them enough for everything.
San is so brilliant and enthusiastic from the first meeting. She really reminded us that the day is really about us as a couple rather than everyone else! She made us feel so comfortable in what were very unnatural situations for us!! (We are a little camera shy!)
The whole experience was very professional and enjoyable, right to the delivery of a beautiful wooden box filled with samples of our photos hidden amongst rustic straw, the presentation was stunning.
When it came to the wedding decor I really wanted to keep the day very relaxed and fresh. We used lots of tea lights and homemade glitter jars to add a bit more sparkle along with fresh white flowers in silver pots. But the venue itself is so pretty I didn’t want to overdo it.
My Mum and I had been collecting tea cups for about a year previous to the wedding. Each female guest received a tea cup as a favour to take home and remember the day each time they have a cuppa. As my family are Scottish we wanted to bring in a couple of personal touches such as homemade tablet for the men’s favours, we decorated the packaging with retro mustache stickers which provided some great selfie pictures!
A highlight of the day was also the speeches. Sam decided to do his speech last as we wanted to announce that we are expecting our first baby. It just so happened that I was 12 weeks to the day on our wedding day, so it seemed very fitting.
The guests were very surprised and the whole room erupted and everyone was on their feet laughing and crying! It was great to share that moment with everyone.
It sounds so cliché, but just relax and enjoy your wedding. From the planning to the actual day. Lots of things can go off course but the day will still be perfect! The advice we were given was to make sure we had some time out away from everyone as a couple, Sam and I took a 30 minute walk around the venue at about 10.30pm. It was great to look in and see all our guests having fun but also to just see each other on our special day! It really was the perfect day.
Congratulations to such a lovely couple – we love your wedding!
