A Gorgeous Glass & Crystal Inspired Organic Farm Wedding: Danie & Lin

Nature loving couple Danie & Lin love the outdoors so much they planned an organic inspired, farm wedding with a minimalistic crystal and glass theme – it is so pretty!

With classic white and green flowers, their gorgeous SA wedding is a beautiful inspiration for Pantone’s 2017 colour of the year ‘Greenery’.

We absolutely L O V E D everything about our wedding venue, Florence Guest Farm, in Mpumalanga, South Africa!!! It’s the most amazing place and atmosphere. Nico & Ane owners of the Farm are such great and lovely people and family to work with. It was a weekend wedding, starting from Friday with a Spitbraai and wine, followed by our special wedding day on Saturday and finishing with breakfast on Sunday with all our family and friends. That made it even more special – everything was perfect!! x

We love to be outside, in nature and not to be in the city, and the venue was perfect for that. I’m very minimalistic in style but still want our wedding to be classic, farm-ey and open. Our wedding theme was mainly glass and crystal with a white and green colour scheme for the flowers with long wooden tables. You can never go wrong with glass and your favourite colours.

The moment I tried on my Enzoani wedding dress, I just knew. Between all the other dresses, it made me feel like the most beautiful bride. I LOVED IT!!

My awesome father walked me down the aisle…

…and the first time Danie and I saw each other when entering the chapel, was one of the most memorable moments, there are no words to describe it… We loved every single moment of our special day.

Our wedding photographers are such an amazing couple – Ilze and Sean are so easy going and chill. Lovely to work with. They capture the most incredible images, so natural, stunning and much more – we would definitely recommend them for any type of shoot.

The venue already had most of the things we needed for a wedding, we just added flowers, table decor and a few name boards with messages. Pauline from the venue arranged the flowers bought from the flower market in JHB. My idea was to have a glass/crystal, classic but minimalist wedding theme, the green and white flowers worked perfectly with the glass.

Each guest received a “glass” lollipop wedding favour. The woman also received a small glass bottle with a wishing flower and thank you note – the glass bottle favours were handmade by my Mum.

Our wedding cake was also minimalistic, a white 3 layer cake with different patterns, white orchids, green leaves and glass initials of D&L.

After our creative photo shoot, we took off our wedding shoes and got into navy high top sneakers… for our first dance…

We had an entrance song – ‘Five Hours’ by Deorro to enter and open the dance floor, that was mixed into our first dance of ‘Shut Up and Dance’ by Walk the Moon. ‘Five Hours’ worked perfectly with our first dance song – just the way we wanted it to be.

Glitter also exploded when opening the dance floor!! and the ‘Shut Up and Dance’ lyrics, ‘this woman is my destiny’ says everything… :)

Thanks so much to GingerAle Photography for sharing this stunning farm wedding with us. Congrats Danie & Lin!

We can’t wait to share some ideas for Pantone’s colour of the year ‘Greenery’ with you, but we have to confess… we are still completely in love with last year’s colour of the year, rose quartz and serenity!
